I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This is a great place to get wide ranging experiences. You'll be asked to work a lot with great people. But there's always a lot of work and not enough resources. "Scrappy" is a good way to refer to the company. Lean and resilient.

    Cons

So much work. You'll be asked to do so much with so little. Be ready for a wild ride though. It'll be fun, but so challenging.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your performers. Stop waiting for your people to find other jobs to recognize them. Take care of them and they will take care of you, and not move to your competition.

I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are many smart people who work very hard at ON. There is a wide variety of engineering roles to choose from. There are many different cultures to work with and international travel opportunities.

    Cons

Work-life balance is almost non-existent. With factories all over the world, expect to work many hours/day and always be behind. The semiconductor business is very mature and hyper competitive. It has become a grind. There is little chance for upward mobility.

    Advice to Management

Don't spread your resources so thin. Focus on doing a few things with excellence, as opposed to many things with mediocrity- or worse.
