    Pros

A company which has a very good work life balance and a great work culture. Supply chain plays an important role in this company's functioning

    Cons

The growth for a full time employee may not be as fast as in other big corporations, but it's not that an issue when you get into the company

I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very stable and management manages costs well to keep the business working in good and bad economic climates.

There is more than enough work to do and there is always a challenge and new project to work on.

    Cons

The company is very large and has grown by acquisitions so the business units are at times disconnected.

Another con would be that things tend to move slowly in a large company.

Sometimes the company culture tends to be more carrot and stick driven, but I see signs of improvement in this area.

    Advice to Management

Financially I think the company is very well run. A little more attention to the working culture could be a good investment.

I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most management promote work/life balance. Options for sales to work from home or an office in many locations. Enable sales to be very strategic in account and market development/growth plans.

    Cons

Merit increases and salary do not seem aligned to performance. No profit sharing. Most years, FTO in Q4 for the whole company. Limited growth opportunities if you are not located near HQ. Hard to navigate the company to know who to contact; it is very much based on relationships that make it difficult for newcomers to easily assimilate to the corporation.

    Advice to Management

Review salary/merit plans vs performance to retain talent, especially when talent and management both acknowledge a gap. Offer profit sharing to employees.

  11. "Professional management team & experienced workers"

    Star Star Star Star Star

I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time

    Pros

Merit increases based on performance, tech positions don't require a degree if you have a few years semiconductor experience, decent benefits (especially paid time off). Management team on site is experienced, professional and fair. Many of the techs have a lot of experience and are very good to work with.

    Cons

Medical plan is high deductible, no profit sharing program. Currently working toward getting back to the level of automation that existed before the site was acquired- hopefully that will happen soon.

    Advice to Management

Create a profit sharing program, even if it's a very small percentage.
