    Pros

Good Assignments. Good to have direct contact with the customer and the engineer.

    Cons

Power Games between employees. An ageist/sexist environment.

    Advice to Management

Provide better feedback. Don't put excessive trust in your favorites and discount the others.

I worked at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people, including first level managers, are great. There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure. The benefits are reasonable, and you can try your hand at many different parts of the ASIC design flow.

    Cons

It's a public company that makes decisions based on quarterly financials rather than long term planning. They would rather buy/hire talent than develop it internally. Very little outside training. Still using older methodologies.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in employee training.

    Pros

The individual contributors that I worked with at On were for the most part very dedicated hard working and great to be around. The first level of management was very supportive and very competent.

    Cons

The issues starts with middle and upper level management of Information Technology. There is a culture of no bad news is allowed to filter up and that fear and intimidation is an acceptable method of management. They consider working there employees at 120% to be acceptable and only above that number is there any concern.

    Advice to Management

During the time I work for ON Semiconductor IT. I never Shaw one presentation from middle and upper level management that said word one about the user community that we were serving. Not 1

I have been working at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You are always busy. Facility is being updated with a lot of new decor providing a more modern feel as you walk the halls. Also added a new gym.

    Cons

Not as rewarding to those outside of management. The industry is very cyclical so there are constant ebbs and flows. Hard to advance.

    Advice to Management

You need more people to do the work and fewer delegating.

I worked at ON Semiconductor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Office hours working.
Motorola analog division culture and people
A lot of good engineering document left from Motorola age.
The HQ is very close to the airport.

    Cons

    Low salary
    Too many office politics.
Not too many good engineers left there thorough the years.

    Advice to Management

The top management seems lack of divisions and lack of focus. They tried to acquire multiple companies of various products but cannot focus on high ASP high margin products.
