    Pros

A fantastic product with a clear ROI value prop for marketers.

    Cons

None come to mind, this is a high-growth oriented team. With that come pivots to better position the company in the market.

    Advice to Management

Continue to explain the strategy pivots along with the market opportunity and you will have the full team on board.

    I worked at ON24, Inc. full-time

    Pros

    Really great people
    Really great product

    Cons

    Really poor Executive Leadership
CEO manages by fear and is proud of it
CEO does not empower his executive team to be successful
CEO has an ego that is working toward the demise of ON24

I worked for ON24 for a number of years and was let go recently in the latest round of company lay-offs....stuff happens and I understand. I received a package that was fair so no complaints and after contemplating the job loss, I looked back on the company to realize it is dysfunctional and I was living and contributing to the dysfunction for some many years by not saying anything.

How does a company survive with a leader (CEO) who can not communicate well, who has no direction or a clue on how to move forward, who thinks the way to get results from his team is to scare the hell out of them. I've never met a more egotistical person that would allow such high turn over continue in his/her company without taking a step back to assess what is going on.

If you are considering this company, I encourage you pause, really interview the team, ask the hard questions, read the GD posting and make an informed decision. Some have achieved great success with ON24 and have had great experiences, but it was in-spite of the CEO's issues

    Advice to Management

This is a message to the board....Get that man out of the drivers seat. He is going to kill everything great about the company.

    Pros

ON24's webinar platform has a great reputation because it is a great product. There is tremendous value for their clients which means the opportunity to hit sales quotas is always present. Tons of great people make it a fun work environment, excluding management.

    Cons

Depending on the department you work in and your direct supervisor, it can be an extremely uncomfortable place to work. No equity or 401k matching offered which shows employees are looked at as a number and not an individual.

    Advice to Management

Trust the people you hire to do the job they were hired for. The rapid turnover that was occurring when I was there made everyone uneasy and made it impossible to feel any semblance of stability, which made it difficult to concentrate solely on the task at hand.

    Pros

    Flexible schedule
    Product is very good

    Cons

The Engineering department has a "break-first-then-fix" appreciation mentality. The good employees who sweat it out to bring out the best performing and bug-free code that seldom breaks are rarely, if not never, noticed. This goes all the way to the company executives who only pour accolades on individuals/teams who fixed something that broke.
Several engineers who innovated and researched various improvements and enhancements had (and still have) ideas stolen by other engineers and got rewarded instead. The management does not cross verify the source of these ideas and simply rewards the "messenger".
Lots of management lies and baloney during appraisal meetings.
Upper management, no matter how bad they are, are never fired. There are no 360 degree reviews where the manager could be rated by the team.
    Lower than market value pay.
Several IT companies provide free lunch. This company does not.

    Advice to Management

Advice to management has always fallen in deaf ears. So, there is nothing that can be mentioned here which is going to improve this department that is filled with folks that have been 8 years or more in the company and are either too lazy to leave or have a lot of stock options and are thus waiting for the day the company goes public.

    Pros

Co-workers were very good, management? Not so much...

    Cons

Biggest issue for me was that the firm doesn't pay vendors on time or per the agreement. Very frustrating when you've made a deal, gotten the services ordered then spend the next few months avoiding calls because management won't pay. Not an isolated case, actually part of their strategy.

After not paying for a few months, they then occasionally try to re-negotiate the deal...really poor practice.

    Advice to Management

Behave like most companies and pay your bills.

    Pros

ON24 is a rollercoaster, there is lots of change, but the people, the leadership, and mentors are great and very positive. It's busy, challenging, and you must be disciplined, but all well worth it.

    Cons

Busy, change, hardwork....but not sure that is a bad thing

    Advice to Management

It's important that goals are communicated and attainable
