I worked at ON24, Inc. full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

ON24 has great people working for them. They all work so hard and are always willing to help when needed. There's always someone who's willing to give you a chance if you want it. Sharat Sharan, Mike Badgis, and Mary Daquioag all helped me every step of the way and I truly thank them for everything they've done for me. ON24 felt like family and I'll always appreciate them.

    Cons

Work/life balance was always tricky, but that's the case for most places anyways. Things could be really stressful, but it wasn't consistently stressful on a daily basis. I can't say I have anything truly negative to say about ON24 and will continue to cheer on their success from the sidelines.

I worked at ON24, Inc. full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

**********Engineering********** - The department has about 6 or 7 active projects, and people work on multiple projects at a time, not by mandation but my choice. Before I left ON24, I was involved in 2 projects, and was requesting to work on a 3rd because of the technology. The work is very relaxed and the managers are easy to work with. There was one manager who used to take the achievements of the team members and pass them off as personal achievements to the upper management, but ever since that manager left ON24, recognitions have been going great for all the achievers. Slacking off during work is of course not acceptable, but there are plenty of opportunities to correct oneself. So, there is no fear of suddenly getting called into a room and being fired (which happens at a lot of IT companies in the Bay Area). In fact, with the relaxed work environment, you have to really put in an effort to be considered to be slacking. The projects are great, and they are all profitable. Free lunch, free snacks, and freedom to work from home once or twice a week. The salary....well, that is something for the 'Cons' section below. **********Fun fact********** - ON24 was one of the companies that thrived during the 2009/2010 recession while other companies closed shop. This was all because of their flagship product which is still one of the active projects in the Engineering department. **********Human Resources********** - Before 2017, the human resources was just okay. They did their job, answered benefit questions, solved "solvable" issues, etc. After 2017, the human resources team has improved tremendously due to a lot of great people joining the HR team. The benefits have improved greatly, but more importantly the personal care and attention has gone through the roof! ~~~Special mention to Marla Pascoe~~~: When I was an employee at ON24, I had a problem with dental insurance for my son. Due to a filing error, my son was excluded from the plan. Marla put in a huge amount of effort to get him included in spite of the plan being out of the government mandated time for adding dependents. She did, what everyone said was impossible, and got my son into the plan. Now, comes the kicker, 6 months ago I left ON24 for greener pastures, and last month I had another issue related to my son's dependent care FSA. The time for reimbursement had expired due to my status as an ex-employee. I made 9 calls to the FSA company to no avail. NOBODY helped, since the idea was that when the time for FSA reimbursement expires, there is nothing anybody can do whatsoever. Well, I called Marla...she went above and beyond, made 5 phone calls and sent 15 emails, and got my reimbursement within 2 weeks. Please note that this is for an EX-employee...and if this is the care that Marla and the HR show to an employee who is no longer with ON24, just imagine their outlook towards the ON24 family. Very good job! Keep it up!

    Cons

Two cons: The first con is that the salaries are not up to mark. They are not bad, but are slightly below the experienced based market value in an environment where the big IT companies pay more than the presumed market value. The salaries have room for improvement...especially to avoid the FOMO that experienced employees get when they compare themselves with peers at other IT companies. I know this, because I was one of them. The second con is that the company has still not gone public though the upper management has been promising to do so "very soon" for the past 8 years! This is definitely not good. I understand that the CEO wants the company to go public only after showing massive progressive growth for 4 consecutive quarters, but employees get tired of waiting at a "20 year startup" especially when the smallest of dips in the progressive growth becomes a reason for the CEO to restart the countdown.

    I worked at ON24, Inc. full-time

    Pros

Really great people Really great product

    Cons

Really poor Executive Leadership CEO manages by fear and is proud of it CEO does not empower his executive team to be successful CEO has an ego that is working toward the demise of ON24 I worked for ON24 for a number of years and was let go recently in the latest round of company lay-offs....stuff happens and I understand. I received a package that was fair so no complaints and after contemplating the job loss, I looked back on the company to realize it is dysfunctional and I was living and contributing to the dysfunction for some many years by not saying anything. How does a company survive with a leader (CEO) who can not communicate well, who has no direction or a clue on how to move forward, who thinks the way to get results from his team is to scare the hell out of them. I've never met a more egotistical person that would allow such high turn over continue in his/her company without taking a step back to assess what is going on. If you are considering this company, I encourage you pause, really interview the team, ask the hard questions, read the GD posting and make an informed decision. Some have achieved great success with ON24 and have had great experiences, but it was in-spite of the CEO's issues

I worked at ON24, Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

ON24's webinar platform has a great reputation because it is a great product. There is tremendous value for their clients which means the opportunity to hit sales quotas is always present. Tons of great people make it a fun work environment, excluding management.

    Cons

Depending on the department you work in and your direct supervisor, it can be an extremely uncomfortable place to work. No equity or 401k matching offered which shows employees are looked at as a number and not an individual.

I have been working at ON24, Inc. full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great working environment, great people, close to public transportation, and at the center of SOMA. They have other locations besides San Francisco.

    Cons

Expect to work long hours, maybe even do the job of 2 people, but the pay is comparable. Unfortunately, San Francisco is one of the most expensive places to live, so it's all relative.

    Pros

Great people, great products, and great customers. Everyone at On24 gives 110% and go out of their way to help others.

    Cons

Great products and a world class development team, but could use a bit more work on the product management and product marketing side.

I worked at ON24, Inc. for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great people! Employees at the operational and customer facing level are friendly, smart, and driven. They have been the reason for the success of ON24. Their customer service and attention to detail are the best in the industry. ON24 engineers have created the best and most reliable webcast services platform anywhere - all others pale by comparison.

    Cons

C level management keeps their own council and plays everything close to the vest. Judging by recent activities (investment of $23M by Goldman-Sachs, acquisition by unknown party of Comdisco-owned stock, CFO lay-off, lay-off of long-term employees), ON24 seems on the verge of acquisition by an unknown party. This will be profitable for the preferred stock owners, but likely leave employee stock with little value. CEO has been claiming IPO "happening soon" for years. The future of ON24 is uncertain at this point.

I worked at ON24, Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are some great people in this company and i still remain friends with many of them. The product itself is absolutely the best in the marketplace but read the con's because these two positives do not outweigh the most toxic company I have ever worked at.

    Cons

Management is awful and they manage by fear and intimidation. They are genuinely not nice people who do not care about you, your opinion or your professional development. In fact, if you express your opinion and it is against what management is doing, they have a long memory and will hold it against you or consider you an outsider for the rest of your tenure at ON24. To add to that, the HR Department is completely inept. They rarely get back to you if you have a question unless you follow up with at least 3 emails. I have honestly never had a response from HR within 48 hours.

I worked at ON24, Inc. full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Self funded happy hours with client support team. Great place to learn how NOT to run a business! Learn as much as you can as you can and leave as soon as possible. I've had various roles in this company and I was blessed to work with a team of great people and amazing manager for a year. Who also left ON24 eventually.

    Cons

Disorganized and delusional management. I am surprised how did they make it this far. (I think almost 13 years.) Managers are stubborn and disorganized. Negligence of technology and best practices takes place across departments. IT guys, client services, marketing specialists are run like "slaves" or "Lower cast" by their managers. (I think Sharat promotes that). You can feel "cast" difference when top managers are ignoring your existence. Not even saying Hi when bumping into you. Marketing abuses 3rd party tools for years with no Idea how to use them. Copyrighter doesn't know how to use Wordpress. Managers report numbers that don't make sense. Every meeting is like a BS fest. (i guess it's just marketing). On24 has more VP titles than any other startup!. Yes; they are still are a startup that has no culture. I wonder why they still don't have "VP of stools and chairs department" title. This place is toxic.
