I worked at OOCL full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Awesome people and excellent atmosphere.

    Cons

Company confirms they will not be selling out for months. Come to find out they are selling. Do not work here if you plan to remain employed for a lengthy amount of time once the buy out is complete.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie regarding companies future. Understandable in a time of consolidation oocl would be bought. But do not tell employees that the rumors are false when in fact negotiations were ongoing for months. No more opportunity here, turn to maersk or msc.

I have been working at OOCL full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits are 100% paid for

    Cons

Zero flexibility, empty promises, mandatory one hour lunch break, zero care on employees well being, no salary compensation for completing higher education, extreamly limited opportunities to grow and advance, absolutely no training, don't care about your personal life, company thrives off of racketeering by twisting the arms of their customers to pay hidden fees,

    Advice to Management

Get educated- take some HR classes, ask for feedback on what your employees want, be flexible and offer solutions to employees problems, reward employees with desire to learn more and want to grow
