    Cons

    - Favoritism, excessive workloads, and micro-management.
    - Limited promotional opportunities.
    - Difficult/impossible to obtain other positions within the organization.

    - HR doesn't value good, dedicated workers.

    Advice to Management

Treat ALL workers fairly. Embrace and value great workers.

I worked at ORAU full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be an awesome place to work. No longer this way. Way to many politics, favoritism, and backstabbing. No real strategy. Waste of tax payer $$.

    Cons

The company has lost the overall mission, values, goals and objectives in the past few years. Leadership is not what it used to be in the 90's. Extremely political and backstabbing organization. Management cannot be trusted.

    Advice to Management

Get some real leadership to lead

    Pros

Great chance for career development physically working in the national lab with great health insurance

    Cons

Some supporting group showed efficient and speedy processes but some section did not like conference expenditure reimbursement.

    Advice to Management

I could see little change and enhanced supporting service after repetitious claims quite a long time

I have been working at ORAU full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are looking for a job in accounting: no skills or education are needed here. You can be as wasteful as you want. There is no accountability. You can use Facebook all day and no one will say a word. Keep up with the latest gossip, there's plenty here. Jobs are really easy but boring. If you are a bigot, spew your ignorance and managers will cover it up for you.

    Cons

Ignorance and discrimination are tolerated, encouraged and even rewarded. The company will just get rid of the person that speaks up about it instead. No growth opportunities. The finance jobs are just boring data entry jobs. Managers in finance are egotistical and have no people skills or no backbone. Good Ole' Gal network lives here. If you love to gossip, this is your dream job. Backstabbing co-workers and petty, silly, scared managers.

    Advice to Management

You can tell people the kinds of things they are not supposed to say that are discriminatory but you just can't make them feel it and when you tolerate it and cover it up, you just encourage more of it. One day it will catch up with the managers in financial operations and ORAU.

I have been working at ORAU as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good hours, great pay, understanding managers, good resume building opportunity, great research experience, opportunity to network with many higher ups that could be helpful in the future

    Cons

There were really not many cons to the job. I was an intern, and an intern's experience depends heavily on the mentor he/she is assigned. Luckily, I was assigned an amazing mentor.

    Advice to Management

Management has the process, system and process down. This is a great organization to work for and it allows me to work towards greater career goals that could or could not be inside the organization.
