    Pros

    The people...where else can you go where people have stayed with the company for 40+ years? The company is one that allows you to run your own business. Otis is also a place where you can define your career path. You want to stay in one office for your whole career, go ahead. You want to see the world, go ahead. You define your adventure and the sky is the limit.

    Cons

    It is a large company and change is slow. We are behind the times when it comes to technology. In addition, we are a service business...so there is never a day off.

    Advice to Management

    We need to quit using the promise of efficiency to reduce heads.

    Pros

    Diverse group of professional, high reward and great opportunity for relocation and promotion. Lot of training opportunities as well.

    Cons

    Stressful at times, customer can be demanding

    too much standardized process across regions or offices, takes away actual customer service at time

    Pros

    Pay is very good and so are the benefits. Room to grow if you can handle the culture and stress of the job.

    Cons

    People are always leaving and it makes your job that much harder. You can't tell management the truth because they don't want to hear it. Everyone is overworked and they don't give you the resources to really take care of the customers and do your job. It seems like 50% of people leave between years 1-3. Your experience will differ greatly depending on how long the team has been in place and how many openings they currently have in that office.

    Advice to Management

    Support your people and your local offices. I would like to see you do the job for a month to fully understand how difficult it is to know all your processes and how much the workload is. I recommend trying it. Maybe undercover boss would help you understand so the issues can be fixed. You make the job about the process instead of the people. The issue is when you don't have people who know and understand the process it really hurts the business. The processes are great once you learn all of them, but it take years.

    Since merging into BIS, culture has changed. Hierarchical and not very open

    Pros

    Great people creating a fantastic work environment. Support promoting from within the company and Employee Scholars program supports all levels of continuing education. I am currently pursuing an MBA at no cost with no commitment after graduation. I've recommended this company to others and will continue to do so.

    Lack of development in the young talent in the branch I work at.
