I have been working at OTIS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Established company name, job security, decent pay

Good only for fresh college graduates to gain some experience or oldies who want to retire in a dead town.

    Cons

    Cons especially at SIT Engineering-

Difficult to move up unless you are a part of your manager's "inner circle" or a brown noser

    Red tape corporate culture

Some of the managers are arrogant racist idiots

Florence town sucks to the core.

    Advice to Management

    Revamp your Engineering managerial staff.

    Pros

Excellent pay, and great work life balance
    1.5 hours from beach
You get the opportunity to work with some very nice experienced employees

    Cons

Work is not so exciting plus alot of unhappy employees. Overall this location harbors a very negative work environment.
Horrible location, poor quality of life in Florence SC
Onsite Cafe food is just sad, mostly they are there to cater affordable food to labor. Not many restaurant options. Most employees eat out
    Old school management!
    High employee turnover rate
Small presence, word goes around fast, watch what you say or best not to say anything

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees!

    Pros

Good pay and you'll meet some great co- workers with holidays off.

    Cons

Favoritism, disorganization and never any positive feedback. Employees are fearful of losing their jobs without notice.

    Advice to Management

If you want to keep good employees you need to invest in them.

    Pros

There are very few pros. I guess I could say that getting out of the office was cool. Being on top of and underneath an elevator was cool. The pay is pretty good for coming out of college. Other than that, it's all cons.

    Cons

Where do I start... The people? The management? The bland culture? The lack of training? The unexciting job? You name it. Unless you have some weird obsession with elevators, enjoy being overworked, and like to work in an office that is failing in sales, sign up.

    Advice to Management

TRAIN your employees. Also people who have been working at the company for 20 years have talked about how they think your days (GM and sales manager) are numbered. All I can do is wait with my popcorn and watch it all unfold (I still have contacts in the company who will fill me in).

I worked at OTIS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great training program...that's all I can come up with.

    Cons

Company culture is garbage, employees are treated as disposable. No internal support, you are hanging out on a wire trying to keep your head above water in your territory and management/ops does nothing to help. Incentives are not paid timely or fairly - they do everything they can to get out of paying you what you've earned.

    Advice to Management

Start over entirely. Core culture is so bad it's beyond repair.

    Pros

blue collar industry within the office for those who don't like an uptight HR office. if you are willing to stay with the company they like to promote from within.

    Cons

outside sales position that traps you inside with administrative work. takes money out of reps earned IC for lost contracts when customer is canceling for reasons out of rep's control. pays quarterly IC with a 6 week pay delay so you have to wait until you are already halfway into the next quarter to get paid on the past...ends up being a game depending on when contracts or proposals book. invests very little into their customers, flaunts their profit growth, then blames the reps when the customer satisfaction rate is extremely low.

    Advice to Management

hire admins with all your impressive profits so your reps can actually sell. hire more field labor so your customers actual receive the service you say you will give. look at what competitors pay their reps...better offers.

    Pros

Flexibility and location, vacations because no one knows how to track them. Managers act like they're blind so you can pretty much get away with anything.

    Cons

Unethical company, reps drink on the company dime and have internal affairs (married & single) which cause high school drama in the office. Company will never open their wallet to keep talent and consistency.

    Advice to Management

Be more professional, stop ignoring the issues that are obvious, boost office and field morale, no potential career growth

    Cons

Very poor management, top to bottom. No respect for employees happiness. Scared to deliver the truth. Sit behind closed doors and manage via email and rumors.

    Advice to Management

    None.
