    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at OU Medicine full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Benefits are fair. Being a part of great healthcare

    Cons

Promotions based on personal relationships rather than experience and education. Less than professional environment. New employee are told the shuttle system is fast , this is not true. Parking is a disaster ! Employees park in only the top levels of a parking garage , walk in a less than safe environment to a shuttle that is rarely on time only to ride a shuttle with drivers that are talking or texting as they... drive.

    Advice to Management

Make Human Resources stick to the job qualifications instead of letting recruiters hire the people that are unqualified only because they are having a relationship with the hiring manager. HR Recruiters should have to look at all applicants. Management should review all manager hires since OU Medicine took over for HCA, you will see the HR and Recruiting departments are not considering all applicants. If you are... not the perfect body type don't bother to apply here.

I have been working at OU Medicine full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Recent corporate change from for-profit (previously owned by HCA) to non-profit has helped with internal reinvestment and rethinking the long term goals of the organization, with emphasis on improving quality and patient care. - Evidence based patient care, thanks to the affiliation with the OU College of Medicine and ready access to academic faculty.

    Cons

Academic medicine - less pay than in the private sector; probably has higher than usual turnover of some employee/staff positions.

    Advice to Management

Work to retain your physicians and employees. Take a bite out of Jim Sinegal's playbook (co-founder and former CEO of Costco).
