I have been working at OXO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome place to work. People are friendly, in good spirits, with generally positive attitude. All the coffee you could want, an amazing kitchen where lots of people get together and laugh for lunch. A few company outings every year, groups that play soccer, or basketball, or volleyball, or board games! Relocations within the company are voluntary, I've seen no back-stabbing or anything like that.

    Cons

It has finally grown to the size where you really don't know everyone's name. It was bound to happen with a company that's growing at this rate. Until very recently they were still pretending it was "small," but they seem to have realized and are making gentle adjustments to the structure, for the better, I think.

    Advice to Management

Keep it fun. If people don't like their job, you'd better pay them well if you want them to stick around!

I have been working at OXO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company culture — seasonal team outings, open office environment, full kitchen at your disposal and for product testing. Very laid-back. Design some great, iconic products.

    Cons

Many people at OXO are old-timers (been there since day one). However, their time at the company doesn't reflect in their job performance and they are still kept around. This makes doing your job very difficult when others don't meet you halfway, if at all.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees more.

    Pros

The team dynamic is excellent, you get to think in a really cool way, the design-focus in all parts of product development is industry leading

    Cons

Eh, the location isn't great. It can be hard to get cross town. I'm not sure if the level of training is really on par with other internship programs.

I have been working at OXO full-time

    Pros

Cares about work life balance, generally not too political. Still has a lot of spirit. Room for "creating" your own position but not much upward mobility. People are nice and peaceful.

    Cons

If you are ambitious, this is not the place for you. If you strive for professionalism, this is not the place for you.

I have been working at OXO full-time

    Pros

OXO's growth and profitability have made this a fun company to work for. The people are great. Smart, talented, and friendly. The office culture is very open, the majority of the staff are young up and coming professionals who are getting great experience designing, managing, and launching new products with high margin. A great experience.

    Cons

Not too many cons here. The compensation is fair but the organization is fairly flat. So not too much upside for promotion if you come in as a mid-level team member.

    Advice to Management

OXO is a fantastic company. But sometimes a top performer may go unnoticed if their personality isn't congruent with the culture.

    Pros

Employees are smart, friendly, and willing to help. The office is divided into small teams that work closely, but the office layout and atmosphere encourages employees to walk across the office and ask a question, rather than pick up the phone and call them.

    Cons

There seemed to be a high turnover rate while I was there. A number of employees left to pursue different careers and other job opportunities. It makes you wonder why they do not want to stay.

    I worked at OXO full-time

    Pros

This is an awesome place to work. The people are as great as the products, and you get to make cool things to transform how people interact with products in their homes. There's a reason people stay here as long as they do.

    Cons

low salary with little room for negotiation, lack of opportunities to advance beyond Senior Manager level due to size of company, low turnover, and growth trajectory

I worked at OXO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, relaxed environment, intelligent and fun people to work with, fantastic products.

    Cons

The culture varies team to team and so do the rules. Some teams have a wonderful, almost a family vibe, and other ones are impersonal and negative.

The company has grown too quickly to maintain the family-like environment. At this size it is important to have processes and policies in place, and it is impossible to continue being quirky and cute. The company is trying to do both and it's painful to watch.

Senior management has been with the company for 20 years and is there for life. It is not motivating to see that senior employees can do no wrong and professional advancement is limited. Leadership in general is questionable.

    Advice to Management

Strengthen leadership and create a more coherent environment.
