I worked at Oak Grove Technologies full-time

    Pros

Good place to build up skills because of cross training in instructional design, multimedia development, 508, quality assurance, and project management. Generally, coworkers are nice.

    Cons

Office politics. They don't apply policies to everyone evenly. Petty managers that don't listen to you.

    Advice to Management

Don't just accept people's word and grow up.

teachers doing business jobs; not qualified
    no structure

    Pros

Great salaries, benefits, work environment and "perks" - management very flexible

    Cons

Not great place for lazy people - and there are a few! Management currently weeding them out

    Advice to Management

Keep people accountable and replace people that think it's a 5-6 hour per day job!

I have been working at Oak Grove Technologies full-time

    Pros

There is no micromanaging going on.

    Cons

There is little to no communication from management, you have to guess if you are doing what they want. The CEO comes to the office, closes his door and watches video's and sleeps.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees, they want to help.

I have been working at Oak Grove Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can make a difference if you come in with good ideas and your not afraid to take them higher up.

    Cons

High turn over at the Mgmt level really messes things up and shakes confidence.

    Advice to Management

You need annual reviews to take yourselves seriously and grow. Compensation is flat line and bonuses are not a good salary increase replacement.

  7. "Great company!"

    Pros

They didn't micro - manage and trusted employees to get the job done.

    Cons

Contract work at different location so didn't have much face time with other company personnel/management.

    Pros

The organization truly cares about the quality of the product they provide. Also, they are clear on the expectations of those they employ, and can be counted on to deliver what they promise.

    Cons

Perhaps a few too many "gray" areas.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Oak Grove Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Oak Grove has given me ample opportunity to grow my skills. I manage a team of designers and developers producing courses for deployment across the Web and in the classroom. The best part of my job at Oak Grove is the team of professionals with whom I work. They are highly skilled, produce consistent high quality work, and are fun to collaborate with!

    Cons

We have transitioned to a work from home environment. This meant a shift in approach from managing by location to managing by results. It seems to be working out to everyone's benefit.
One challenge is the cost of parking and public transportation, which is borne by the individual employee who still works in the office full time. We're located in a metro area where land values are high, so our transportation costs are high, too. Other than that, everything else is fine.

    Advice to Management

I would welcome the opportunity to learn more about other parts of the company. We offer myriad services across a broad spectrum of disciplines and it's sometimes difficult to keep up with what other parts of the company are doing. An opportunity to share our achievements would be rewarding, since it might reveal areas where we could collaborate.

Generous to employees in many ways.
    Wonderful co-workers.
    Nice work/life balance.

    Cons

Needs better communication and more team building.
