I worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Networking with some of the best research scientists in the world. The facilities were brand-new, and the equipment was state-of-the-art.

    Cons

Not all research groups have the same work ethic level. You could get placed in a group that does not do much work, so as an intern you do not get the hands-on experience that is expected from a research internship.
