    More office/full-time positions

    Pros

Overall positive atmosphere; company outings are fairly frequent and enjoyable

    Cons

Underpaid (as with most sports organizations); overworked (also fairly common in baseball); lots of turnover

    Pros

Fun working at the stadium, free tickets and lots of free A's gear, coworkers are mostly nice

    Cons

Salary not competitive, no upward mobility, very old school style company. Good positions go to friends / family / classmates of upper management, not many outside hires. Long term employees are allowed to have a poor attitude because of their seniority and many are extremely bitter. Management knows how to take care of the players but doesn't seem too concerned with the rank and file.

    Advice to Management

    It won't change.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Oakland Athletics part-time

    Pros

Got to meet some great people, watch great baseball and work with customers

    Cons

Boring, not enough to do once your customers were in their seats and long hours

    Advice to Management

Make the job a little more hands on

  8. "Diamond Vision Intern"

    Pros

Great Experience, must be hands on with everything. Be assertive, and learn as much as you can.

    Cons

Older employees have been there too long. Old school approach, although it is a great brand of baseball.

    Advice to Management

Be more open to suggestions. Let interns do more and have faith in there ability. Logging tape will get boring and burn people out.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Fun atmosphere and opportunities to meet some great people, especially those that have been around the organization for a long time.

    Cons

Communication with management was hit or miss and lack of feedback on scheduling decisions was frustrating. Difficult to get on full time status but that can be expected with the industry.

    Advice to Management

Better organization and treatment of all employees, especially those not full time (interns, day of game). An improvement on feedback and communication from management would be a good start.
