I worked at Oakmont Country Club full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The members treated me as an equal not an employee, and I learned many life lessons and made life long friends

    Cons

The night driving ranged closed and so did a lot of memories and good times were had by the public and the members themselves

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, may the Pirates and Bandits golf tournament rock on, the mini burgers were the best I have ever had

    Pros

It is a job. Probably nothing great for something long term, but if you're interested in a decent paying job for the service industry this doesn't do too badly. They pay is reasonably good, and fairly typical. Nothing too out of the ordinary. There are opportunities to excel and push your responsibilities.

    Cons

Not really a whole lot of opportunity for promotions and career advancement. There are only a few management positions and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The quality of the management can be hit or miss. There really isn't a whole lot of direction given for some tasks.

    Advice to Management

They need to know that if they treat their subordinates well their subordinates will treat them well.

I worked at Oakmont Country Club as an intern

    Pros

Great learning experience. Plenty of hours available for those who are looking to make some money. Great if you love to be outside

    Cons

Long work hours and very seldom days off. March until October is pretty much 7 days a week with a scattered Sunday off every two months or so. Sick days are non-existent. Work/Life balance...What is that?
