    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Oasis Children Services part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Reasonable pay, options to work for six weeks or eight weeks, enjoyable training

    Cons

-too focused on keeping families happy -burden of keeping things going usually falls on one counselor. Most of the staff doesn’t take anything seriously -groups often way too large to manage -few staff have experience managing large groups of kids. Chaotic -administrative staff really played favorites with both counselors and kids

I worked at Oasis Children Services part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Easy Summer camp job. Only take the job if you’re desperate for one.. the only rewarding experience you’ll face is seeing the kids have fun. I suppose that’s what it is all about ...

    Cons

Ha.. oh so many... but in general: 1. Work hours averaged 55-60 hours per week 2. Garbage pay 3. Depending on who your camp director is, then your life just might be miserable. 4. A tad bit disorganized 5. “Blue shirts” aren’t paid salary for their first two weeks of training where they have to commute to NYC. They receive a small “travel stipend”.
