Average Real Estate Company
May 6, 2022 - Photographer in Philadelphia, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- No editing required - No marketing - Typically okay pay, and if not you can ask for higher pay or reject the job - all of this is pretty standard with these types of real estate media companies - phone support agents are available quickly and they're helpful and friendly
Cons
- very low volume (less than ten shoots per year) - often send laughably low paying jobs at around a third of a typical industry rate - do not permit invoicing - the training videos are unnecessarily time consuming (just provide contractors a PDF shoot manual) - on-site shoot procedure could be streamlined for less time on site

Pros
Set own schedule Support if you have any questions or need help with something
Cons
Been working for them over a month in a major city on the east coast and not one job has been sent to me yet and when I called asking why I haven't even received one job the reply was that my area is a new market for them and they should slowly begin to see more jobs as time goes along

Always Evolving to be the best in the Industry
Jan 22, 2019 - Photographer Trainer in Sandy, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Obeo Photography Partners do not have to do any of the post-production processing work. Clear guidelines are set up so that they do not have to guess how to photograph. Photography Partners are always allowed to make their own schedule and their privacy is protected so that Clients are not calling them at all hours or even after an order is complete through Obeo. Upper Management listens to each and every employee's opinion and suggestions - everyone has a seat at the table. The management team will even request feedback from our Partners on how to make continual improvements to the system so that we are ahead of the game - they do whatever they can to simplify the process. Systems have been upgraded so that in an archaic real estate world, where MLS systems can't even communicate, Obeo is opening the doors to technology and communication - doing everything possible to make marketing and photography easier on the agent as well as our partners that photograph for our agents. Obeo is growing every day and there is always room for new learning and advancement. I love my job - I love the culture that my teammates and co-workers have developed over the last three years. Nerf wars, game days, training is consistent. It's a great company to work for. (And - the snacks are always good)
Cons
Photography partners do not move as fast as our technology and sometimes have a hard time keeping up. Many reviews online are old and do not reflect the current status of the New Obeo.

Amazing Company with Amazing People
Jan 24, 2019 - Customer Service Specialist in Sandy, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
They just launched a new website platform that is extremely nice. Its On Demand, so placing an order and having a photographer reach out to you takes only minutes. Customers have full customization tools at their hands. So virtual tours can be customized to your liking and look. Opportunity for growth is insane, due to the fact that homes will always get built, and more and more real estate agents, and home owners will need photography. Obviously more clients will require more management and oversight. Although OBEO has been around for awhile, with this new technology they will grow at a more consistent and rapid pace now. They have integrated their system so you have the tools to post quickly to MLS, and Social Media, and also to expand your marketing campaigns to create brochures and fliers in no time. The people that work at OBEO are intelligent, motivating and energized to take this company to the next level. But personally i think they are already over that hump and ready to achieve more. Its amazing working for a company that takes your ideas and recommendations and brings them to light, They keep everybody in the loop, so nobody is left behind. OBEO's values and culture is what sets them apart. Its easy to relax at work, but still have a good productive day.
Cons
OBEO is at an interesting stage of growth where changes were necessary, and it can be difficult in a customer service position to adapt to those changes. But I've always took change as a an opportunity to grow and develop. So i embrace it.

A transformation of incredible proportions!
Jan 16, 2019 - Vice President Customer Success in Sandy, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Talk about a journey! OBEO is a 20 yr old company that has worked with thousands of photographers and too many agents and brokers to count. People know OBEO through different experiences created over these years...but recently, after several years of covert re-building, and after incredible feedback from Photographer Partners and Customers, we released OBEO 2.0. OBEO 2.0 would not have happened without dedicated people who care deeply about providing the best experience and service possible. Hyper focusing on creating the right value--and executing it--is not easy... it stretches you to do what was previously impossible, it challenges assumptions that unknowingly were impediments, it looks at data to drive decisions, it prioritizes what data points are truly valuable it forces constraints with the right amount of flexibility it views at ownership not as an equity percentage but as the attitude towards roles, it respects people who deliver high performance it's evolution is constant, with core principles as the beacon
Cons
Sometimes you lose NERF battles.

OBEO real estate photography is the worst company ever “ scammers with low quality”
Nov 1, 2018 - Photographer in Tampa, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
None , they are punch of scammers
Cons
Obeo is a SCAM stay away from them! They sent me to a job I drove an hour to get there done the job and by looking at my earnings on their website they wanted to pay me $43 for my time! while they collected $119 for the order they wanted to keep more than 60% for them self, I sent them an email and told them if this my pay I don’t want it and I told them to send someone else to do it for $43 I won’t upload those pictures for them for that amount, they agreed to pay me $75 instead and they have sent the money through my PayPal account and as soon as I uploaded those pictures to them they called Paypal and disputed the amount and trying to get the money back so they can get this job done 100% free! SHAME ON YOU OBEO “ WORST COMPANY EVER”

Difficult to Contract With
Jul 20, 2015 - Photographer in Sacramento, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you are a talented real estate photographer and thrive with a chaotic schedule then contracting with Obeo will be enjoyable.
Cons
Their uploading procedure is tedious and antiquated and the scheduling is chaotic. They say that you can work as much or as little as you want but that's hardly the case. I was constantly being contacted by confused realtors and eventually became their punching bag because their scheduling system is so confusing for their clients. They expect professional quality with flawless lighting for ALL properties, regardless of the state or condition of the home. The pay for each property did not justify the level of quality they demanded.

Good Company At One Time . . . But Now It's A Different Story
Feb 20, 2019 - Photographer in Orlando, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Honestly, I can't think of any at this time.
Cons
Too many cons to list, but, for a starter you can believe 95% of the negative reviews on this site. I worked at Obeo for over 10 years here in central Florida and the last 3 were a nightmare. As an employer they get a minus grade for the lack of respect for their photographers. They drove , or are driving, out the most senior ones and replacing them with new (younger?) people who are willing to accept less money. They use the excuse for the lower salaries is they now have a team doing all the post work on the photo jobs . Ask any R/E agent you know who quit using Obeo why they did.
Continue readingWe are so happy you spent so many years with OBEO! Sorry to see you go. To be clear, OBEO does not "employ" photographers with "salaries". All of our Photography Partners are independent contractors who are highly skilled and trained photographers. They have professional equipment that meets the OBEO standards, and they can accept work as frequently as they like that works around their schedule. Our premium quality guarantee and on-demand photographer network is exactly why we have seen tremendous growth in our customer satisfaction and order volume.
