    Pros

Great place to make good money if you work hard. Great management.

    Cons

It's cut throat in sales and there's a lot of competition. If you can get past the first year, it's all up hill from there.

I worked at Océ full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great senior management, great employees, great working environment. My management team was very team based. Opinions mattered from the senior VP to the Admins. Many had over 20 years with company. I would have stayed forever.

    Cons

Company was purchased and the new owner laid off numerous of those people with the most experience with the lines The new company did not have deep knowledge off. They also changed the culture to absolutely no focus on employees.

    Advice to Management

Find out how Oce maintained such high quality employees for so many years and reinstate some of those policies.

    Cons

Two Mergers happen during employment and the uncertainties of knowing if you will have a job when it was final.

I worked at Océ full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with, excellent product line, benefits are good. Acquisition by Canon should be beneficial.

    Cons

Positions still being eliminated due to acquisition and organization restructuring by Canon. Job security not the best at this time. Many long term employees have been terminated.

    Advice to Management

It would seem that staffing decisions are being made by Canon management without enough input from Oce management. Canon management still needs to better understand the Oce business model.

I have been working at Océ full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Been here for a while so it almost feels like family. There are lots of good people and some not so good. Pay is decent, room for advancement.

    Cons

Company got bought out so there are lots of changes going on. We all feel like sitting ducks, which aint the greatest feeling! Favoritism and lack of disciplinary action on certain folks that really get away with murder.

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye on the goof offs and discipline them as the good workers have lots of recentment because of it.

I have been working at Océ full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some good, talented people. Some really great products too... but that's about it. Certainly not enough pros to fill the twenty word minimum Glassdoor requires.

    Cons

Senior management treats employees like pawns for their own advancement. Motivation and good morale is zero. The corporate culture here is basically the "haves" and the "have nots". Unless you are either one of those select "favorite" employees or in a senior position forget about any pay raises, bonus, etc. (Many people just got let go with the Canon acquisition and the remaining ones just got a demotion in their titles plus no more bonus plan going forward.) If you are "favored" it has nothing to do with how well (or badly) you do your job. In general you will just be expected to work harder every year to just make the same compensation. Certain departments are pathetically incompetent but management will turn a blind eye and expect you to cover for them instead of them fixing the real problem. Things are not looking to improve with Canon either... not a good place to work... and I've been there since 1998.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees and represent their interests instead of just your own. Employees will be more loyal and work hard for the company. Compensation and title should be matched to the roles and responsibilities and not just what was convenient for Canon.
