I worked at Océ North America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Oce North America, was an excellent company to work for. The company knew how to run there business and treat employees well! They had great management, excellent benefits and employees work together. Oce was large global company, but it felt like family.

    Cons

I had nothing negative to say about Oce North America

    Advice to Management

The Management there was excellent. They were open minded managers, great management skills with employees, they trust there employees and help teach there employees to learn and grow.

I worked at Océ North America (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent Life/Work Balance, Good Benefits,

    Cons

Low base salary, Low commissions compared to others in the industry, Discouraged taking time off

    Advice to Management

Stop with the revolving door of sales people. Hire good ones at a fair base, then pay good commissions.

I worked at Océ North America full-time

    Pros

Great company and decent pay. Company offers internal training which was a really great perk to those with no experience.

    Cons

The company did not have a whole lot of room for internal growth. The only way to grow was to move departments.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to offer an incentive or bonus program as this was previously lacking. Also create jobs for existing employees to grow.

I worked at Océ North America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Product unique, good hard working people with the adopted European work ethic in many cases. Defined growth opportunity for individual but limited

    Cons

Poor business execution, limited opportunity, major disaster in acquisition of Imagistics Corp.

    Advice to Management

I believe upper management is no longer as it is absorbed by Canon who is also struggling now. Oce Acquisition I hope it wasn't catching.

    Cons

24/7 and that is what the management expects!
There is NO tech above average according to management!
No time for you, because they are always short workers.

    Advice to Management

Doesn't mater, you can't fix stupid!

    Cons

Two Mergers happen during employment and the uncertainties of knowing if you will have a job when it was final.

I worked at Océ North America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I had a great boss there for a short time, but then that boss left the company and that was the only positive about working for Oce.

    Cons

terribly ran company; no autonomy for sales reps; way too much micromanagement; inferior product

    Advice to Management

Thank God Canon bought the company

I have been working at Océ North America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have very good employee benefits and retirement plans. Salary is better than fair in the industry. Company is mature and well organized.

    Cons

I have observed certain upper level managers to have thrown their weight around. Inordinate amount of pressure is put upon lower level workers.

    Advice to Management

Do not hold on to the dead end technologies and put them out to pasture.

I worked at Océ North America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with, excellent product line, benefits are good. Acquisition by Canon should be beneficial.

    Cons

Positions still being eliminated due to acquisition and organization restructuring by Canon. Job security not the best at this time. Many long term employees have been terminated.

    Advice to Management

It would seem that staffing decisions are being made by Canon management without enough input from Oce management. Canon management still needs to better understand the Oce business model.
