    Pros

None that I can think of

    Cons

The CEO pretty much admitted that he has no idea how to lead the company in the latest video posted 6/22.

    Advice to Management

    Overhaul senior management

    Lies
Will have no work daye, then management will throw you a project they have known about for days/weeks/months and expect you to meet with stakeholders in 10 minutes with no preparation.

I worked at Oceaneering International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I honestly don't see any pros.

    Cons

Working there as a young woman, I faced repeated discrimination and harassment, even from senior HR folks who (behind closed doors) made sexist commentary. Everyone treated harassment training as a joke. Those who reported harassment were horribly mistreated once the HR/Legal team disappeared. Almost every woman in the office felt fear and faced inappropriate comments on a near daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Weed out the chaff--just because they make you money doesn't mean you should continue employing men who make the office environment feel like the 1950s.

I have been working at Oceaneering International full-time

    Pros

Company can be successful in oil and gas service industry if run correctly.

    Cons

Company is run like a 1940's good old boys club with male dominated clicks, constant backroom fighting internal politics. Relatively new executive management that is destroying the 50 company culture that established it's success in the industry. Employee moral is bad due to poor senior management.

    Advice to Management

Come down from your ivory towers and see how the company is run first hand, management by intimidation and fear will drive good employees away once the industry rebounds

    Pros

Great technology and a number of very good people still left.

    Cons

The company has populated itself with more vice presidents and senior vice presidents than it has ever had in its history starting with the 2015 downturn. Yet thousands of people, especially directors/middle managers have been let go. Jobs are being downgraded to managers and below who have neither the experience or knowledge to support any turnaround. Oceaneering has become a Baker Hughes / FMC clone and far from the company it once was. It is a ship without a rudder.

    Advice to Management

    You can't shrink to greatness.

I worked at Oceaneering International (Less than a year)

    Pros

Heavy activity in Oil and Gas industry but with downturn in past couple of years contracts have thinned. The Space Science divivision lost its largest contract developing a space suit for NASA.

    Cons

Personnel are very cliquish and the company doesn't do anything to use personnel strengths. Managers are very poor communicators and will change paths quickly without much input. Layoffs galore every couple of years except for management who manage to get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Get your heads out of your bottoms

I have been working at Oceaneering International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Like most places, there is a good share of nice employees and managers here.

    Cons

    - No bonuses, no salary increases for years (not even in high-tech departments)
    - Corporate overhead and HR related-nonsense are wasting hours if not days of your time (still using very outdated PeopleSoft and Oracle), for example a short business trip with expenses of less than $1000 will take you 8 hours LMS courses, 6 hours of form filing and a painful endless communication with HR and helpdesk.
    - More managers than engineers.
    - Can't keep up with latest technologies, no funding for software licenses or hardware upgrades.
    - Laid off employees (while public records indicate that the company spent $18M+ on executive salaries every year in the past 5 years, outrageous)
    - Benefits (like health insurance and holidays) are been cut off every year more and more.

    Advice to Management

Abandon ship while you're still above water.

    Pros

Good 401K, some people were great to work with, ability to move around company.

    Cons

They hire some shady managers, they have been laying people off for the last 2 years at least one a year.

    Advice to Management

screen your people better. the nepotism isn't always good for the company.
