I have been working at Oceaneering International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company if you land in the right department. Seasoned people with a lot of experience to share. Their "on the job training" attitude taught me to survive and use every bit of my skills to get by. You will never be more aware of what you can do until you are left to fend for yourself.

    Cons

There is NO training, NO support, NO real advancement unless you're in with the good 'ol boys club. Learn what you can and move on that's my advice for anyone that wants to work here.

    Advice to Management

I read a lot of warnings about the no real structure and no training and I gave it a shot because I really wanted to work here. In the time I was there everyone talked about change and nothing changed. There are/were a lot of good employees being held back because management is just worried about staying afloat themselves so they can't really look out for employees. Change starts at the top, you want a great team then you have to train them and invest in them.

A history of weak management since the smaller company was bought out by Oceaneering. Too many ex-Navy with not enough real world experience.

    Advice to Management

Having prominent ex-Navy names associated with your company should at least be backed up with good business minds.
