    Pros

This is a large company and when a division has a lull in the amount of work it has, instead of laying off employees, Oceaneering will find work in other parts of the company.

    Cons

When oil prices are down... no one gets raises.

I worked at Oceaneering International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I can't think of a co worker I didn't get along with after working in several different departments over a 3 year span. For the first 2+ years, there was plenty of overtime (actually around 85 hours per week!).... Then the oil industry downturn hit....

    Cons

There is hardly EVER "middle of the road" hours... either we were working 85 to 100 hours PER WEEK (no paid lunch)... or they were slashing hours from people who had a huge workload (along with management's expectations to get a 15 hour project completed in 3 hours... with no mistakes of course) ;)

    Advice to Management

Take a walk onto the assembly floor and warehouse and ACTUALLY get to know the guys that are busting their (insert word here) to make you money.... oh, and actually listen (and take action) on their needs /concerns to make their job easier, more efficient, and safer... supposedly, safety is FIRST (but it's constantly LAST)... just sayin...

I worked at Oceaneering International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The workplace was safe. And the employees were friendly. I also worked in a department whose supervisor did not micro manage.

    Cons

There was no overtime in my department. And for me the commute to work was a little far. The advancement in my department was aligned correct and hard to accomplish.

    Advice to Management

The advancement of an employee should be clear and precise. And able for the employee to feel that it can be achieved.
