I worked at Oceans Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being able to brighten someone's day. Watching people get better in short time.. the characters you get to meet. Changing environment. Not for easily distracted people.

    Cons

Negative attitudes of other MHT's. Kinda felt like the company wanted to fill beds than help.

    Advice to Management

Take MHT's more seriously and make sure they have a caring heart when no one is looking.

    Pros

Uniforms are nice, provide HR on site at the hospital.

    Cons

incompetent leadership, claim transparency but are not, unorganized corporation, don't allow you to hold down ANY other jobs-even prn or part-time.

    Advice to Management

Stop listening to the heads of the companies you are buying out and actually read the resumes you demanded upon buyout. How about interviewing future employees? Be swift in replacing current management with your own people.

I have been working at Oceans Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The hospital is small, your coworkers become family. Every employee has a part in the patient's success. You must do your part. Teamwork is essential.

    Cons

It is a geriatric psych hospital. There are hard days. There are very hard days. But the reward will be to overcome each day and return with a smile on your face.

    Advice to Management

Some of our hardest days are overlooked and sometimes we are overwhelmed. Remember that we are doing our best to handle the situation at hand.

I have been working at Oceans Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As a recent new hire, this company allows for flexibility. I am getting hands on experience managing employees at various locations and am looked upon as an expert in documentation improvement for providers and staff. There is no micro-managing and you are allowed to tailor your department to fit your facilities needs'. I have been privileged to take my past experiences and implement action plans for an overall, positive environment with the support of my fellow Oceans Team.

    Cons

Behavioral healthcare is a challenging environment, but allows for more one on one interaction with each patient and staff member as compared to a large scale hospital where most of the patient population would receive care.

    Advice to Management

After taking part in administrative duties, I have a company that takes each of their employees' values very personal. I see a future in this company, especially to giving our youth employment opportunities.
