I have been working at Oceans Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Transparency in the company. Incredible outlook and vision for the future. CEO takes time to sit down and visit with you, and truly cares about the people, not just bottom line. Great people - down to earth.

    Cons

Still growing, so speed bumps are just a part of the game.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to grow this company. I can't wait to see where it goes.

    Pros

Great directors and co-workers. They promote many areas of staff appreciation.

    Cons

Can be stressful at times with staffing and difficult patients.

    Advice to Management

Take a closer look at staffing ratios.

I have been working at Oceans Healthcare full-time

    Pros

The pay is great and most coworkers are great to work with.

    Cons

Only 11 PTO days which includes sick time is horrible, especially in a high stress field such as this one. Very few holidays off which adds to the problem of work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Please take a look at the PTO policy. And management should not be allowed to literally yell at staff. We are stressed out enough as it is.

I worked at Oceans Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Senior leadership usually responsive to any questions related to how they can best equip you to be a better employee.

    Cons

Stress is a given in healthcare, as are inconsistent hours and abundant meetings. Not particularly "cons", just be aware of what to expect.

    Advice to Management

Be more open to promoting internal candidates moving forward.

I have been working at Oceans Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Leadership at all levels cares about patients. This is a great company in a difficult industry - mental healthcare. Doing the absolute best they can. Most employees are happy and love their jobs. Some employees have the wrong attitude and it shows in their work.

    Cons

Mental healthcare is a very difficult industry.

    Advice to Management

Keep persevering, you are doing the right thing.

    Pros

Like most of my coworkers. LVNs pass meds. Good pay.

    Cons

Accept pts that belong in NH or SNF. Staffing is inadequate quite often. Would be more efficient with a charge nurse to manage floor and help out with admissions and discharges. Each RN runs a hallway. Health insurance is expensive. Admission process is long.

    Good health care/ dental plan.

    Cons

Poor leadership. A lot of illness within the company, need a management overheaul.

    Advice to Management

Need a total management overhaul. A train wreck in most cases, listen to your employees. Stop covering things up. Own the problems and address them.

    Pros

    Absolutely zero pros to discuss!

    Cons

Very poor wages and leadership throughout the company at the corporate and facility levels.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on the wrong items and hiring the wrong leaders, this practice is bound to get the company closer to achieving its goals!!

I have been working at Oceans Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is fair. About half of the staff are great to work with. Working with the patients is rewarding. Most of the nursing staff truly care about the patients.

    Cons

Benefits are horrible. Only 11 PTO days your first year, including sick time. Benefits are not worth the cost. High copays even on the most expensive plan. Very few paid holidays. You will have to pay for your own CPR and First Aid. You will not be granted time off for or provided in-house opportunities for continuing education. Employees are treated poorly and talked down to often. Employees are written up for trivial things and no empathy is shown when an employee is injured. People are blamed for the poor quality of others' work. Management is all about the bottom line and keeping the beds full with "warm bodies," as they say. Patients who don't need inpatient treatment are admitted and patients are discharged earlier than they should be due to financial reasons and to make room for patients waiting to come in. Just about every employee is miserable and talking about how badly they want to find another job. And this does not apply just the direct care staff. Turnover is horrible. Most of the employees here have worked here less than a year.

    Advice to Management

Focus on patient care as much as financial gains and the hospital will have a better reputation within the community. Treat employees with respect and compassion and it will help improve morale and decrease turnover. Improve benefits to retain quality staff. Lead by example when enforcing policies. Administration should not be above the rules.
