    Pros

The managers really try to work with you if they like you and you work hard.

    Cons

They do not pay enough for the amount of work and ghetto people we have to deal with so there is a high turnover. Old Navy pays more.

    Advice to Management

If you up the pay you will get better applicants that will want to stay so your turnover won't be so high and you can be more selective.

I worked at Octapharma Plasma full-time

    Pros

    There are no pros here.

    Cons

    - Extremely low pay, they pay $8.50/hour for a job that should get at least $14-$15

    - Managament was definitely the worst thing about this job. The three women that managed the center I worked at (Madison Heights) were all extremely rude, demeaning, unprofessional, uncaring, unhelpful, displayed blatant favoritism, and many times were abusive. You are nothing but a number and barely human to them.

    - Little room for advancement and managers lie to you and make false promises to get you to stay.

    - Unsafe and disgusting working environment: lots of harassment from hostile donors, many donors are felons or addicts and managament encouraged employees to not change gloves between donors even if they had blood or plasma on them.

    - Very ghetto coworkers and donors.

    - Racism against white employees by black employees.

    - Poor training and skills you gain here are very specialized and not transferrable to many other fields.

    Advice to Management

Replace yourselves with people who are educated, competent, and actually care about their employees.

    Pros

Friendly and fun donors keep you smiling

    Cons

Low pay. A lot of drama. Horrible management.

    Advice to Management

Management from the Director to Management to Supervisors are horrible. Supervisors are lazy and out for themselves. Management same thing. And the Director is just a puppet for them. Employees are backstabbers. All in all very stressful place to work. The job is easy but coworkers are not. Would not recommend this place to anyone!

    Pros

Flexibity--you are valued and your late/call out is weighed with your work performance (may be individual center)

Relationships--the managers and the staff work together and help each other out.

    Cons

Being provoked by clients and negative employees. And the pay is not clearly defined and manipulated by management with confusion and empty promises .

    Pros

Some of the Phlebotomists are actually skilled.

    Cons

Horrible management, rude employees and donors make for a bad donating experience at this particular plasma center.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to stop what you're doing long enough to hear your employees concerns.

    Pros

a good place to start your career especially phlebotomy.the pay is fair with benefits including 401 k and health insurance, friendly co-workers.Good parking spots in the morning.

    Cons

they don't rotate your schedule, low pay. there are also times when you have to leave early because it's slow.full time is like paid part time they cut your hours. If you work closing the parking is so horrible.workers are less appreciated

    Advice to Management

should rotate the schedule for all the employee. They have a life too, imagine being stuck working on weekends, even worse when you're closing. We cannot rely on PTOs just to have time with our family. How about a weekend time off twice a month for EVERYBODY

I worked at Octapharma Plasma full-time

    Pros

Very easy to get hired, great health benefits, professionalism or any other skill not required, cross training, opportunities for management positions if you have a bachelors degree, good medical experience to put on a resume.

    Cons

Favoritism, hard workers taken advantage of, unsanitary, risk of contracting an infection, donors allowed to belittle and harass employees with little consequences, little to no professionalism among employees.

    Advice to Management

If you're focused on promoting customer service, don't favor the employees who have no desire to work. It's very discouraging to the ones who work hard and try to implement customer service. There's a high turnover rate for a reason. Ask the people who are quitting why they're quitting, listen to their concerns, fix the concerns that multiple people have, and maybe you'll be able to hold onto the hard working employees with the background in customer service that you are trying to implement in the center. Fire the people who have used up their 6 points. Promote people who are actually willing to train. The trainers on the donor floor just want the paycheck, the are very obvious about their annoyance when they have to train. All assistant managers are truly great but don't continue to let employees take advantage of you.
