    Best Restaurant Job Out There

    Pros

You get to work in a beautiful restaurant that is extremely well managed. Everyone that works there gets along great and holds each other accountable (in a very nice and respectful manner). Unlike other restaurants where everyone is trashing people behind each other’s backs, Odd Duck oozes positivity. WONDERFUL FOH vs BOH dynamic. Also, great regular clientele.

    Cons

It’s not an easy restaurant job. They have an online app where we discuss new developments everyday, and employees can chime in on what they think can make things better. And management listens and acts on it. So they are constantly whittling away at trying to make things better. I think this is a good thing, it might be hard for a newbie to get up to speed on all the little ins and outs.

    Pros

Good money, great coworkers and management. Team work, a well oiled machine. Fantastic food and drinks. Great learning experience. One of the best companies to have on your resume for future gigs in Austin. Pretty flexible schedule, as long as you get your requests in early. You're baby picture can go on the wall!

    Cons

Long shifts, a ton of side work, including cleaning bathrooms. Daily menu changes, or tweaks. Unintentionally and begrudgingly became known to work with food allergies/sensitivities. This brought many, many people with "allergies", especially to gluten. This is a serious strain on the staff, especially since the ingredients used can change from day to day. Farm to table. People abuse it here more times than not. ( yes we can tell real from fake) drinking a beer, (not GF beer). But I'm "gluten free". I'm allergic to....., eats friends food that has "allergic" ingredients. People with real food allergies know what they can and can't eat. No permanent menu to commit to memory, often need to consult first( especially with nuts).
