I worked at Odeon Cinemas full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Tough to say nowadays, I worked with them for over 10 years, and for the majority of that time i enjoyed it. Good close knit group of people within the individual cinemas, friendly rivalry with other cinemas in your region were the pros of old.

    Cons

company is no longer about Cinema, nor is it even about making money, it is all about saving money, bringing inexperienced people in to work for peanuts, not contributing to the upkeep of it's buildings, etc still a lot of good people working there at all levels, however their hands are tied.

    Advice to Management

Invest in people again, you used to do it so well

I worked at Odeon Cinemas part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the people I worked with were great and most of the management team were very good, The perks are also great, free tickets and 40% discount. Good place to work alongside studying.

    Cons

I honestly would not join this company if you are looking for professional development/ progression. They are more than happy to let you work way above your pay grade and never actually promote you to a better position. And when the opportunity does occur (which is extremely rare) they already know who they want. It's as if they can magically pull a job out of thin air. The management in the cinema I was in were fantastic, however anyone above cinema level did not care about the employees at all, and found it extremely hard to congratulate staff (even though their website makes it look like they do this all the time).

I have been working at Odeon Cinemas full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free films for you as an employee. 12 free films per quarter for friends and family.
Discounted prices for food and drink.
If you have a good management team as well as good team members/cinema hosts, it's a fun place to work.
If you enjoy helping people, customers and other team members, this is the job for you.

    Cons

Be prepared to be on your feet for the length of your shift.
The pay isn't the best, just minimum wage. Working bank holidays for no extra pay.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees who work with the customers and other team members.
Make sure it's a fun environment and you praise people for their hard work.

I worked at Odeon Cinemas (Less than a year)

    Pros

Rotation of jobs (you'll be working at the ticket office, selling food, checking and cleaning screen rooms etc) so you never get bored.
Management staff are nice and give you thorough training.
You get discounts on film tickets and food.
Nice team atmosphere, most people are friendly and film lovers

    Cons

Pay is not great at the beginning. Also, you are required to work on evenings and weekends. Nothing else apart from that.

    Advice to Management

Nothing really, from my experience they were friendly, provided good training and were understanding when I messed up sometimes at the beginning.
