I worked at Odeon Cinemas full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Tough to say nowadays, I worked with them for over 10 years, and for the majority of that time i enjoyed it. Good close knit group of people within the individual cinemas, friendly rivalry with other cinemas in your region were the pros of old.

    Cons

company is no longer about Cinema, nor is it even about making money, it is all about saving money, bringing inexperienced people in to work for peanuts, not contributing to the upkeep of it's buildings, etc still a lot of good people working there at all levels, however their hands are tied.

    Advice to Management

Invest in people again, you used to do it so well

I worked at Odeon Cinemas (More than a year)

    Pros

Film card so you got to see any films for free at any ODEON cinema. There are a few restrictions but nothing major.

    Cons

Wasn't interesting just another retail job. Management always tried to push promotions.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing much

I have been working at Odeon Cinemas part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free cinema tickets and 40% off food. Very friendly atmosphere and staff, opportunity’s for days out, Christmas meals etc. staff screenings: getting to see a film a day before it’s release(only if the management choose too)

    Cons

Very busy during big releases, some staff not willing to help as much as others. Can be quite cliquey, especially if you’re a new starter

I have been working at Odeon Cinemas full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Free cinema tickets for you and your guests, 40% off retail for you and your guests including Costa stores, plenty of career opportunities,

    Cons

Low salary for all levels, including General Manager, Deputy Manager and GES for the hours expected to work, poor work life balance due to no shift patterns

    Advice to Management

Reatructure again, make the Deputy Manager role redundant and introduce an Ops Manager role with a better salary and increase the GM salary too. The GES pay should be over £10 per hour for what is expected and they should be recognised as managers and not just a supervisor
