    Pros

People under management are the best. From some super attendant to the operators and maintenance. Family! Bennifit are hands down the best ( free and great quality)

    Cons

Upper management will make u do thing that isn't by the rules and procedures. And will throw ur job in ur face everyday. they lost a lot of great people due to management change.

    Advice to Management

The little people makes the company so stop treating them like there not on ur team.

I have been working at Odfjell full-time

    Pros

The people. There is amazing and very loyal talent that has been in the business for a long time. The health, pension, and other benefits.

    Cons

Lack of leadership and training. The place has really gone downhill in that last few years. Organizational change has shaken the place, which is understandable, but the new management doesn't seem to have a handle of it. HR is a joke. The new president is a micromanager bully with zero trust of his subordinates. Most of them run around like headless chickens - afraid to rock the boat. Staff feel that their work is never good enough regardless of how hard they work. The terminal has become a very unrewarding and morale-stripping place to work lately, which is very sad because the staff has been very proud of this terminal for many years prior. There is no true leadership or vision for the organization as a whole and if it is there, then management refuses to share it with the rest of the staff. Morale is at an all-time low. The union vote passed among operations which never would have passed under prior management. Experienced personnel is being "thrown" out the door like trash. Also, all the roles seem to be filling up with engineers and if you are not an engineer, then you feel unworthy.

    Advice to Management

While many changes have been made to increase profits, understand that your goose eggs (your employees) will be the ones to get you there so it doesn't hurt to treat them better and trust them. If you continue doing what you're doing and making groupthink decisions, you're heading down the wrong path. Also, invest in technology to keep the terminal ahead of the competition. The place needs visionaries to "pump" back some morale into your current staff and reduce turnover so it won't hurt to invest in more leadership training for your managers. Good luck!

I worked at Odfjell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to get your feet wet in the industry. Lots of hands on experience with pumps, hoses, lineups and nitrogen.

    Cons

Lack of communication between management and hourly employees, no training structure. In the midst of working out progressive pay schedule.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the development of new employees and devise a way to track and monitor the progression of each new employee. Consider feedback form employees when deciding on which products to bring inside terminal.
