good company! everybody trys to help everybody! and i got a good manager! still keep in contact with them! a good starter for your career
too much paperworks that is not really necessary. well i love working there and i miss my workmates
I worked at Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum USA as a contractor (More than a year)
Recently acquired by Atlas Copco in September 2016. Changes seem to be on the horizon for a better, more improved workforce. Casual attire permitted. Flexibility for time off.
Office is stuck in the 90s. Senior managers have been with the company so long, they seem to be "checked out" and have lost touch with any semblance of healthy corporate culture. HR is lazy and often not around. Company uses multiple staffing agencies to supply temps, who eventually find better permanent positions and move on. High turnover. Negative work environment. Combative coworkers with no middle management to control and focus lower level support staff. Left hand does not talk to right hand, so customers suffer. Headquarters in Germany are non-responsive or take days, sometimes weeks to reply to a simple email request. Lots of politics going on and many fearful of loosing their jobs. Unmotivated staff.
Advice to Management
Time for a reality check! The reason you keep loosing employees and turning over staff is you hire too many temps, feed them empty promises of getting promoted to a permanent position, then drag things along and never do anything. Hire some managers for each department, rather than a few directors wearing too many hats.
Company lets employees wear casual clothes, unless management.
No working over time (Company DOES NOT want to pay overtime).
Salaries are below market, don't promote within the company. Employees have been in the company for 5 yrs plus, and still make the same salaries. Never gotten a raise, or reviews, nothing! Management do not mingle with lower rank employees. HR acts like a dictatorship instead of a help to employees. (HR - Human Resources). Not sure if they know that. Several complains and HR has done nothing!
Advice to Management
Promote from within the company instead of bringing people from outside the company, ignoring employees that have been in the company doing the same job for over 20 years. Keep employees happy with better health plans, vacation and holidays.
Keep employees informed on company issues. Allow employees to work in a fearless workplace. Culture and values are NON existent!
