I have been working at Office Depot full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Learn to work under pressure

    Cons

Hours are terrible, no more than 25 hours a week. No benefits, pay is not worth the work in Copy and Print. They ask for so much and give you next to nothing. I make $1 less than my Supervisor and I'm just a Copy and Print Associate. No room to grow or climb. Give you little to no raise. Equipment is outdated. I see it as a dead end job with no possibility for growth of any kind

    Advice to Management

It's mostly Corporate, they give you the bare minimum to do any work, they ask for way too much like square trade sales and expect a certain amount a day per store. No promotion even for the few employees that actually get the required sales

I worked at Office Depot full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly staff and customers. Team building experience.

    Cons

Constant corporate changes and constantly understaffed forces you to do the job of several employees on top of your actual job. Bad training for tech and copy and print departments leads to a whirlwind of messes.

    - Commissions

    Cons

    - Managers tend to be terrible
    - You can get stuck doing everything yourself

I have been working at Office Depot full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Started out as a good company to work for, good pay, fair bonus compensation and many tenured people to learn from.

    Cons

So many company and management changes, each change brings sweeping layoffs and new direction. Lack of direction, support and now bonus are causing low morale across the board.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to change everything all at once each time a shiny new idea comes along. You have good people who want to be here, stop acting like we don't matter.

I have been working at Office Depot (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Had some good coworkers. Flexible hours. Had some great supervisors and bosses.

    Cons

Had some crappy coworkers. New manager was distant, rude, and I suspect slightly racist/sexist

I have been working at Office Depot part-time

    Pros

Easy workload in any department besides Copy and Print. Laid back managers.

    Cons

You will be forced into roles/positions that you did not apply for, especially Copy and Print department.

I have been working at Office Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Coworkers are pretty cool.
    -Employee discount is alright.
-Work isn’t too bad, but that depends on the time of year.

    Cons

    -Pay isn’t great
-Management cares more about the customer than employees, to the point where they defend the customer from the employee.
-Corporate doesn’t care about the employees, only sales.
-Workload can be pretty large, depending on the time of year.
-Management will sometimes ask you to work off the clock.
-Company is sinking, and it shows.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with the respect they deserve and pay them a fair wage for the amount of work done.

I worked at Office Depot full-time

    Pros

This industry is filled with good tenured employees that you can learn a lot from.

    Cons

The industry is a dying industry and upper management does not know where to take the company. Eventually it will be driven into the ground by current management and sold into pieces.

    Advice to Management

My advice to Management is to stop waiting for a payday and manage the company or leave.
