    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Ogilvy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Ogilvy is a place where proactiveness and effort is respected and rewarded. It's a fast-pace environment that constantly changes, which makes the work exciting. You get to work on top-tier brands as clients, and most team members are thoughtful and people you can learn from.

    Cons

It's the agency life, so it's not a 40 hour a week job. Raise and promotion cycles aren't always consistent.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Ogilvy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The resources, breadth and depth, are amazing. Ogilvy is truly unique in that we can offer the best of the best of anything that clients are looking for

    Cons

Senior management (both Ogilvy and WPP). The day-to-day teams that do the work are great, but are constantly hamstrung by management. They're obsessed with cost cutting (vs. revenue growth), can't adapt to a changing business environment, and focus on self promotion.

    Pros

The location is great. You get exposed to a lot and can learn a lot if you are proactive.

    Cons

There are very few opportunities for growth. You don't get paid well and promotions are very hard to come by.

I worked at Ogilvy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Great flex-time, lots of autonomy

    Cons

Didn't have an actual O&M office so had to reside at a sister location when the core team was located in another state. A bit discombobulated.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your subordinates especially if they are in a different state than you. Their needs for leadership might not be met.

I worked at Ogilvy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great resources, smart/creative people, good benefits and some decent clients.

    Cons

Client load is light, senior leadership bogged down by ton of politics, no focus on the actual talent in the office

    Advice to Management

Really listen to what people want in the office and what direction they'd like to go; give them the training options to grow and evolve rather than bringing new people into a tough situation.
