I have been working at Ogilvy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great culture, exciting work projects and opportunities. Accessable senior leadership. Heavy drive for award winning work, helping you pad your portfolio

    Cons

Little to no transparency when it comes to raises promotions. Resources are scares as average work days are 10+ hours

    Advice to Management

Sending emails about senior leadership changes does little more morale, instead we should be celebrating the middle and lower teams

I have been working at Ogilvy full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The opportunity to work on some of the biggest brands in the world with some of the smartest people on the planet.

    Cons

Reviews are slow. 11th Avenue in the winter.

    Advice to Management

Understand that professional growth is just as important to the creative staff as it is to account. Creative people need professional training too.

    I worked at Ogilvy

    Pros

Free sunshine. Free view of New Jersey.

    Cons

No raises. Ever. No understanding or value of creatives or the creative process.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating people like a commodity. Stop running it like an accounting firm. Stop taking on anti-creative clients and expecting the creative department to change them.

    I worked at Ogilvy

    Pros

If you're on a good team, it's a great place to work. There are definitely some smart, creative folks who work there but...

    Cons

There are definitely some jerks. The environment can be very competitive for no reason. Extremely uncollaborative. The work in general is extremely safe.

    Creative in New York, NY
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Ogilvy for less than a year

    Pros

Lots of perks, most people are smart and (generally) nice, a lot of accounts, occasionally there are good briefs that are open to all creatives. If you ever produce work that's even remotely good they will submit it to every award show under the sun.

    Cons

Overly conservative account-driven agency with boring clients. Work-life balance and quality of work depends on which account you're on and certain accounts are dysfunctional and brutally toxic. Extreme favoritism (raises and promotions only go to people who worked directly for Corinna before she was promoted to CCO).

    Advice to Management

Don't treat your employees like cogs in a machine, don't lie to us and don't think the creatives haven't noticed that every other department actually gives promotions - you're sending a pretty clear message that you don't value us

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Ogilvy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

CCO Chris G. really wants to make the work better, and is slowly elevating the creative.

    Cons

Dysfunction. Empty suits. Empty promises. No support. Faux empathy. Never any action taken to help its people.

    Advice to Management

Wake up, and take responsibility for your staff. Recognize the extreme morale problem and stop burying your heads in the sand.

    Cons

Work-life balance, like in any ad agency
