I worked at Ogilvy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some of the smartest, most committed people I have ever worked with in the industry. The global Planning Talent was particularly outstanding.

    Cons

The WPP management of the brand was not particularly deft. That all may change with the departure of Sir Martin.

I have been working at Ogilvy part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Very talented and dedicated people who are willing to do what it takes to get the job done well.

    Cons

Form over substance seems to rule the day; no pay increases and limited promotional opportunities for staff. The attrition among those with the most talent has increased dramatically over the course of this year. The continuously cancelled or delayed salary and promotional reviews results in a lack of trust in the leadership and prompts attrition of the most talented. This does not bode well for the future of the organization.

I worked at Ogilvy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people I worked with were some of the most talented and passionate people when it came to public health and really caring about the mission of clients, particularly those in government. Team culture which is great.

    Cons

Extremely poor work/life balance. Pay lower than industry average for most positions, particularly mid and senior level roles. Benefits are mediocre compared to other agencies. "Big agency" culture which is grueling and puts too much emphasis on billable hours, regardless of client or thinking about individual employee talents and desire for growth. Lack of clear vision for growth and improving morale among employees.

    I worked at Ogilvy

    Pros

The office is in a great location, and is very cool.

    Cons

The leadership is so full of themselves and treats junior staff as if they are nothing. There is no mentoring or training, employees are expected to use Google to find answers to help clients, and clients are paying skyrocket rates when they could have just used Google.
