    I worked at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

Worked on the interactive side, the work was okay, company was great, good benefits.

    Cons

Unfortunately my manager was not the best, and so I didn't stay in the job as long as I would have liked.

I have been working at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

    The view, rooftop, day-to-day people

    Cons

Promotions are met with a “others have been waiting longer” attitude, even if deserved, promotions don’t come with raises, no more Ogilvy Play program or You Matter Day to celebrate employees, nobody in management seems to know what’s going on

    Advice to Management

Get back in touch with the 99% and thank your employees for sticking by you.

I worked at Ogilvy & Mather full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can find great and talented people. I met the best Creative I have ever seen (Corinna Falusi) which doesn't work there anymore. Mark and Ryan are pretty impressive as well, they are definitely in the top of my list. The agency is good for those who appreciate HUGE deadlines and time to spare.

    Cons

The agency is really slow, in every single way. As a creative, I would never recommend Ogilvy NY to any CW and AD who want to have something done. There are talented people there because of the brand "Ogilvy" but most of the leaders are outdated in terms of creativity.

    Advice to Management

    Hire better creative leaders.

    Pros

Beautiful office, nice co-workers, Christmas break, and summer Fridays

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Explain all the possibilities in the company

    I worked at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

    - Great company culture
    - Close, small knit, fun team
    - Located in Silicon Beach (Playa Vista)
    - Surrounded by many other top notch agencies
    - Good work-life balance
    - Weekly WFH days

    Cons

    - No sexy clients
    - PR runs all - no creative, strategy, production, technology, data, business development or HR departments
    - Digital team supplement PR teams
    - New business acquisition never happens
    - Promotions and professional development - does not exist
    - Senior leadership does not support junior staff in their promotion/development strategy
    - Extremely low pay compared to the industry
    - Management is not transparent with employees
    - Ogilvy West has no presence in the larger Ogilvy network
    - Does not recognize employees who go above and beyond and immerse themselves in new projects, accounts, ect.

    Advice to Management

    - Be transparent with employees about pay raises, promotions and the cycles (especially those in LA who never receive promotions)
    - Change and update your current new business strategies - they are not working
    - PR should not run all - office needs to be more collective and collaborative

I have been working at Ogilvy & Mather full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing network of smart, creative, and nice people.
Strong emphasis on how strategy informs creative, and their best work speaks for itself.

    Cons

Lot of changes to the company/industry. Hard to keep track of everything that is changing, and sometimes hard to keep treading water in a big place.
Less training than there used to be.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget about the junior employees who still want to be here
