I have been working at Ogilvy & Mather full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The NYC office is diverse and full of great opportunities. They focus heavily on company culture and making it a great work environment.

    Cons

They are working on integrating their several different sub-companies into one. This will help with internal communication and knowledge!

    Advice to Management

The HR and management are great resources for younger employees. They are eager to help, listen and offer guidance to those who are newer.

I have been working at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

The people are great, hours are flexible, good work/life balance...and the work itself is engaging

    Cons

Career growth is lacking. Ogilvy & Mather is a great place to work if you want to stay in the job you are in. If you want to move forward or laterally to a new type of position that may prove difficult.

    Pros

Good management and ability to grow and take on more responsibility.

    Cons

    Not enough structure on teams.

    Advice to Management

  5. "Office politics"

    I worked at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

Surrounded by great people (in the Atlanta office), but majority of the great people are dropping off like flies (and not being replaced). Benefits are okay- only high deductible plans available. Pay is below average for the advertising industry, but having "Ogilvy" on your resume looks good.

    Cons

So many office politics at play and the boys club mentality is still pervasive. Ogilvy is known for never giving raises or promotions (who gives a promotion without a pay raise? Ogilvy does). So, make sure the original offer is good. The Atlanta office doesn't seem to get taken too seriously, as opposed to the other NA offices.

    Advice to Management

The employee morale is low, a lot of uncertainty. If you want to keep employees, maybe work on raises and upping the morale.

    Pros

Strong female leadership. Making changes to keep up with client needs and industry changes.

    Cons

Lack of career planning and promotion opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your talent. Take care of them so they don't want to leave.

    I worked at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

I learned a lot about advertising, marketing and creative thinking at O&M and very grateful for everything they taught me.

    Cons

Salary in Tokyo was not competitive and difficult to raise even if you and your team is performing well.

I have been working at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

Great work life balance. Honest workplace interest in diversity.

    Cons

Very political. Digital is still bottom of the ladder and happens despite the company, not because of it.

    I worked at Ogilvy & Mather full-time

    Pros

I worked with a fantastic group of people. Ogilvy was the first place I worked in my professional life where I felt like I was friends with my coworkers. The office perks are great, and they take good care of the corporate culture.

    Cons

While I was there, times were tight financially, which made getting a raise difficult, even after a promotion. As a result, turnover was high and morale often suffered.

I have been working at Ogilvy & Mather full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great name on resume, will gain lots of experience especially when starting out in your career, amenities in the NY office are cool

    Cons

Company isn't performing well overall, complete lack of support on teams, upper management doesn't take care of junior employees, completely overstretched each day, taking personal time is looked down upon, no work/life balance, constant hiring freezes, client expectations are mismanaged and we don't have the staff to do great work, hard to move up in promotions/salary

    Advice to Management

Hire more hands to help and care more about culture and work/life balance
