I have been working at Ogilvy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The NYC office is diverse and full of great opportunities. They focus heavily on company culture and making it a great work environment.

    Cons

They are working on integrating their several different sub-companies into one. This will help with internal communication and knowledge!

    Advice to Management

The HR and management are great resources for younger employees. They are eager to help, listen and offer guidance to those who are newer.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Ogilvy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Atmosphere and work environment. Many resources outside of the creative department.

    Cons

Promotion periods happen twice a year, very relative to others on the team even if more deserved. Not enough account people who are strategically minded and can write well. Creative teams not strong and as accountable as should be in an agency of this caliber.

    Advice to Management

Keep employees abreast of growth opportunities and provide atmosphere to reach up and progress.

I worked at Ogilvy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible work environment. Great downtown location with free parking. Very nice people at all levels but nice doesn't equal success.

    Cons

One of the worst mistakes you can make at a company is just moving people into leadership because they started there at the beginning and weren't smart enough to leave. There was a total lack of true leadership at almost all divisions of this company (except development). Truly people that are attempting to sell clients on user experience design without having any education or background in the field. It's a house of cards that is quickly crumbling as they continue to lose clients and fail to win any new ones.

    Advice to Management

You really need to gut all your leaders at the design, sales and strategy level and take a risk on people with actual experience in those areas. Your company is slowly drowning and all the employees notice. Don't let loyalty get in the way of your doors shutting and your reputation further going down in the user experience community.

I have been working at Ogilvy for less than a year

    Pros

24-hour access to facilities and free coffee machine. Working environment is bustling and free moving

    Cons

It's at times difficult to create new connections with those in the agency as everyone is separated and no central place to facilitate that

    Advice to Management

Create a central hub for inter-agency networking and skills sharing to promote utilising each other more
