    Pros

Very nice people to work with and great hours.

    Cons

Low pay but the job was very stable. I never had to worry about layoffs.

I have been working at Oglethorpe Power full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, good wage and 401K.

    Cons

Bad Supervisors and upper management. Everybody thinks everything will be alright, until something bad happens. Then it's a concern with the highest priority. It's an atmosphere that kind of scary. Someone is running your power plant with experience from somewhere else, you think. No training, testing makes one think.

    Advice to Management

Have some senior management that cares about a power company. They are all in their offices hoping that someone in the origination knows the job.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great benefits, good work life balance, new CEO who appears to be a thinker and not afraid to challenge the status quo. Hopefully, there will be changes in the future.

    Cons

Limited growth opportunities, not a lot of alpha employees, perceived inequalities for some employees, inexperienced managers. A lot of managers do not have other work experience; therefore, they are not willing to move away from inefficient processes and take risks.

    Advice to Management

Hire a consultant to assist with conducting 360 management reviews.

I worked at Oglethorpe Power full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small group, easy to work with. In addition, there is a lot of freedom. Finally, the learning curve is easy to overcome.

    Cons

Not very challenging in the work that is given. Also, some of the leaders are very narrow minded and not willing to grow in their ways.
