I have been working at Ohio Living full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Definitely the people and ethics of the organization which are faith based. Pure satisfaction in helping elders find the best continuum of health care organization in the country!

    Cons

Low paying salaries since a non profit which is hard when one has worked for over 30 years in a lucrative corporate environment.

    Advice to Management

Increase base salary and return sales staff to being salaried instead of on an hourly status. Too hard when we are in and out of the office continually with no overtime budget.

I worked at Ohio Living full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working with and helping the family and residents.

    Cons

Depending on your dept you need to watch your backs. Upper Management/officers are not what they seem. Getting stabbed in the back was a surprised.

    Advice to Management

    Don't lie.

I have been working at Ohio Living (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Really care for the employees and the clients we serve. The company gives you the training you need to do your job.

    Cons

Only Ohio based. Not a lot of room for relocation. Under staffed at times and some times have to turn down clients because of being under staffed.

    Advice to Management

Better to hire more people so you can grow our client base.

I have been working at Ohio Living full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great environment, very nice buildings, great food

    Cons

Union wages and benefits have not kept up with other nursing homes in the area.

    Advice to Management

Pay more and train better to retain new workers longer. Working short staffed or with new workers who aren't ready is hard.

I have been working at Ohio Living full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not for profit company that without a doubt always puts the patient's needs as number one priority. This company lives it mission statement and the team work and support you feel amongst your coworkers is truly like no other company I've worked for.

    Cons

I honestly can't think of a single bad thing to say. If I absolutely had to chose something to say was a "con" it would be my distance from the office but I knew that before I accepted the position, so I can't complain too much

    Advice to Management

The management at my local office is top notch. They make you feel appreciated and take every opportunity they can to recognize you and tell you what you are doing right... and if there's something you need improvement on, they approach you in a professional manner. They really listen to their employees opinions.

    Pros

Senior Independence lives by their mission. To be a faith based mission driven organization. I never dreamed to actually work for a company that just feels like family. Senior Independence works very closely with their corporate headquarters, OPRS. OPRS and Senior Independence work hand in hand to not only provide the best care for their clients, but for their employees as well. Many have found a home at Senior Independence like I have! Highly recommend! The culture of this organization is fantastic!

    Cons

I truthfully am unable to come up with any cons regarding Senior Independence. My experience has been wonderful!
