Current Employee - IS Support in Columbus, OH

I have been working at OhioHealth full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Pay is competitive, overtime sometimes available

    Cons

They don't consider how things affect employees. Like, say, moving your job to the other side of town. Or cutting back on lunches and breaks. All the little changes add up until it's a death of a thousand cuts.

  9. "Understaffed. Stressful"

    StarStarStarStarStar

I have been working at OhioHealth

    Pros

Somewhat flexible schedule. We do self scheduling which only few changes made.

    Cons

Understaffed or “high census” at all times. I don’t consider it high census if it’s majority of the time but that’s what those who don’t work the floor like to call it. Maybe it sounds better. It census does drop some, then they call a nurse off for the night so we still run short. It’s about the money. If we are very short they may buy us pizza which isn’t much for me. Save the money and hire more nurses. One of the biggest problems is there is very few open positions on my floor when we are continuously short staff, makes no sense. Insurance- not good at all. Benefits in general not good.

I have been working at OhioHealth full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Newer campus, decent benefits, flexible schedule.

    Cons

This marketing department is one of the most cliquey and backward places I have worked at in my life. Management talks about the great work-life balance and opportunities to advance, but in three years I have only seen two people in the entire department (of around 100 people) get promoted to a substantially different or advanced enough job to be considered a promotion. They also grossly underpay for the marketing industry, which is a little odd considering how well OhioHealth is doing in central Ohio. Also, if you're looking for diversity this is not the place either. The entire department being almost wholly compromised of 40-50-year-old white women, there are some serious issues.
