I worked at Okemo Mountain Resort part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job was easy, especially when the Adventure Zone wasn't busy, and was not physically demanding. For the most part your coworkers are great and the job is never really boring.

    Cons

There's very little down time (half hour for lunch and thats it) so if you're not ready to be on your feet all day this job is not for you.

I have been working at Okemo Mountain Resort full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers, flexible supervisor for scheduled days, consistent days on and off, ski pass, 50% off food and many other discounts.

    Cons

More training is needed to offer a consistently high level of service. The pay needs to improve for seasonal employees.

I have been working at Okemo Mountain Resort full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people. Free ski pass is great.

    Cons

No communication between departments. None. Management does not lead or create incentives or stimulate morale. The "okemo difference" is that they pay us very little, treat us very poorly, and expect us to smile and be cheerleaders... for what! Other resorts pay better, and do not treat their employees like disposable Lego characters.

    Advice to Management

Stop fooling around with garbage employee morale-building workshops and internal rating systems that neither help nor tell you what's really going on within the company. Pay your employees better and you'll have better employees. Offer your customers first-rate dining and lodging, and they'll become happy, loyal customers.

I worked at Okemo Mountain Resort full-time

    Pros

    -Free Ski pass
-paid shutdown week (if full time salary)

    Cons

They don't accept change. It's always how it was done last year. Have to follow a strict regiment schedule. You have to have the same two days off the whole winter. Trying to change a day off is next to impossible. A lot of gossip mills at this resort.

    Advice to Management

Let people be creative and don't stick to the status que.

I worked at Okemo Mountain Resort full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free season pass, discounts at resort restaurants and shops. As well as discounts at restaurants and shops in town! Most of the patrons are on vacation and are in great moods.

    Cons

Low pay, but the season pass and perks make up for it! You need to be on the constant lookout for inexperienced riders!

    Advice to Management

    I have none!

    Pros

Supportive and accommodating staff, fun environment, friendly guests and families who are down to earth. Free ski passes, great bars, access to the gym.

    Cons

At the end of the season they stopped allocating lessons to full time staff (who are paid per lesson) and instead handed those lessons to supervisors who are salaried.

    Advice to Management

Don't do the cons, and continue to support the staff. Provide incentives programs for the staff. Generally things work well.

I worked at Okemo Mountain Resort (Less than a year)

    Pros

Laid back bosses, friendly coworkers, unlimited access to Mountain and discounts on food and gear. Training was helpful and sufficient.

    Cons

Higher level (therefore more interesting) classes were reserved for full-time people -- a high school instructor was guaranteed beginners.

I worked at Okemo Mountain Resort full-time

    Pros

Okemo provides a great atmosphere to work in, upper level management very respectful and understanding when it comes to scheduling

    Cons

You have to have another job to supplement your income, it is hard to find something near the mountain due to the location

    Advice to Management

The issue isn't really with management it is hard to change the ski conditions, when it doesnt snow as much every aspect of the business is going to hurt
