I have been working at Oklahoma Heart Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, house resource always available for assistance when needed and best pay in the state for hospital pay. Great benefits!

    Cons

Very cliquey! If your not in the "In" group your considered a peon. Also if you are a "seasoned" nurse you tend to get the heavier load of patients versus the new graduate nurse that gets the lighter load. 🤔

    Advice to Management

To house resource make sure to share the load of the patients fairly. And all employees should be treated the same even if they aren't invited to after work get togethers.

I have been working at Oklahoma Heart Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are the best. Most are very willing to help and work as a team. The pay is good. Self scheduling is nice.

    Cons

The place is VERY cliquish! How you are treated by house resource and management depends on being part of the in group. Overall atmosphere and morale has been on a huge downward turn. No longer a fun or rewarding place to work. Treating patients as royalty has turned many repeat customers into demanding spoiled brats. Physicians can be very mean and abusive. No one has the nurses back any more. Being competent just gets you a heavier workload. Incompetency is rewarded with an easy workload. The turn over rate is really increasing. Everyone I know is looking for another job. And the new hires are not the caliber they used to be. Recent changes in upper management have not been good. I feel like the place is in crisis.

    Advice to Management

Treat your nurses fairly and with respect. We feel like chopped liver!

I have been working at Oklahoma Heart Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) house resources always available!
    2) Patient to nurse ratio never more than 4:1.
    3) Great pre-standing protocols.
    4) best pay in the state I've found so far!

    Cons

    1) Turn over can be hectic when your new but it gets easier with time!
    2) Small hospital, only so far to advance career and skill wise.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Benefits, exposure to new job tasks. There is definitely room to grow within OHH. The networking between peers on site and off site is a great experience as well.

    Cons

Human Resource does not represent the employees, Business office management thrives in gossip and negativity. They speak to the public and higher ups how they treat the employees equally but it is far from true. The environment comes off as if you are not "buddy buddy or friends" with certain people then you are a peon within the business office

    Advice to Management

Management in the business office needs to lead by example and know that respect is earned. Do not make hasty decisions that could have negative consequences. If a manager is in error what is so wrong with stating you made a mistake and move on?

I have been working at Oklahoma Heart Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

OHH has contracts with other company's such as gyms and theme parks, and the employees get discounts. OHH also has contracts with other medical facilities such as McBride Orthopedic and if we ever need a service there the care is free v. $3k, $5k, etc.

    Cons

The business center is ran by really lazy people and management would rather hold you back than promote you.
Holidays and inclement weather days come out of your PTO

    Advice to Management

Lead and don't hold your people back.
