RecommendsI have been working at Oklahoma State University part-time
Pros
This job is relaxed for a graduate student position. This depends on your advisor, of course, but the CHS campus is much more chill than Stillwater. Everyone from professors to other students are friendly and helpful. There is a culture of cooperation.
Cons
Possibly less strenuous than other similar positions.

Pros
People are great. Small town vibe but the campus has a big feel to it. There is a lot of great research done at OK State, and if you are a GRA, you have a lot of resources.
Cons
The pay is generally not great as a GRA. Stillwater is a pretty small town which is a downside if you like the big city feel.
Pros
Great atmosphere with friendly colleagues
Cons
Not as much to do in Stillwater as larger cities

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEOI have been working at Oklahoma State University part-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Stillwater is a cheap city to live on.
Cons
Good professors don't have any funding, while the bad and abusive ones have a lot of external funding. Abusive research environment. My professor called me during weekends and asked why I wasn't working in the lab. He also used to say that the people from my country were lazy people. He would make lab meetings only to yell at everyone, and say that we were just lazy and stupid students. He did not allowed Ph.D. students to graduate with less than 6 years. Once, I complained with the management, and no one did anything. I had to change to another advisor and keep working in my Ph.D. without any funding. The T.A. assistantship is mediocre. They pay you 2000 dollars, you have to pay 400 dollars of income taxes, and you also have to pay almost 2000 dollars of fees per semester. It is almost a piramid scheme. The worse thing is that you can only be T.A. for 8 months, because there is almost no classes during summer. Good luck living below the poverty line.

Pros
Stillwater is a great town to live in. 1 hour away from two major cities (OKC and Tulsa). OSU offers great benefits. The people who work at OSU are friendly, competent and its a very fun and family like atmosphere (at least where I worked). Campus is beautiful, lots of dining options.
Cons
Pay isn't always the best, considering they're a government agency and have limited funding. Parking can be hard to find. Things move slow in higher education.

Pros
OSU has a very diverse culture. People in Stillwater are nice to talk to.
Cons
Stillwater in roughly 1hr 30mins away from the city and at times grocery shopping too gets difficult (when you are a student and don't own a car)

Pros
OSU takes care of medical insurance. That's neat. Its Stillwater, so you end up saving most of the little earnings.
Cons
I mean, it's a Research Assistant position, so you're expected to work hard.
