No job security and always short staffed

      Pros

      Friendly coworkers despite being overworked

      Cons

Always short handed, 200 people terminated even with the shortages, having to do the work of 3-4 people but only getting paid to one, stressful and overwhelming, too many short cuts being made just to get through a work day, to them you are only a number, they tell you want you want to hear and then do what they want. No job security for people that have been loyal and employed with them for years.

      Watch Out. They're trying.

      Pros

Unit has good teamwork, coworkers help one another, scheduling is good (given shifts you request). Lazy workers have been fired more frequently every year instead of it taking about 5 years to occur like before. Management is openly now asking for feedback which is good.

      Cons

Management (over 50 managers were just fired due to budget cuts) is out of touch, high staffing ratios (1:5-6 RN to pt, 1:8-16/17 PCT to pts (especially bad on weekends) they discovered they could increase during pandemic without any lawsuits so they've kept them high bc $$, housekeeping is unreliable and rarely shows up (think things are cleaned once daily at MOST, not every few hours., Yuck). Pay is mediocre- if it were better, turnover would be reduced. PTO not approved for nurses: guess what- if you don't approve it, they'll call in sick because they have obligations and you'll still be short regardless. Mass exodus of nurses in the last 6 months.

Run don't walk away from this CEO

      Pros

      Work is close to home

      Cons

Fomer Ceo was awesome. He valued his employees making sure staffing was sufficient and giving yearly bonuses to all employees. New ceo was hand picked by previous retiring ceo. He picked poorly. New ceo has amassed chaos within by giving extremely poor, highly priced insurance. Last year he asked for 100 FTE positions to volunteer for buyouts or retirement. He got 150 volunteers. He wasn't done there. After, he eliminated 30 more positions including management. This caused 8 managers to quit. Just found out that a new Neurologist was hired from Arizona for a price tag of 25 million. This new Dr does 1 procedure, just one. He required a new state of the art unit and a separate entrance for his convenience. Staff is so short staffed it is a safety issue. All employees doing patient care are beyond stressed out. There is no one to call for help as everyone has either been let go or has quit. I do not recommend working at OMC. Wait til the community finds out their once beloved hospital standards are intentionally not being met.

      Pros

Coworkers are great. Insurance and other benefits are fair.

      Cons

Ratios are horrible. Management dosen't care and is rarely around. Patient safety is always at risk. They care about making money not your license or patients. Pay is horrible though they talk like they have lots of money.

      Pros

Wonderful co-workers who make coming to work tolerable and fun. Decent pay.

      Cons

Management doesn’t care about employees well being or mental health but would rather them be there to cover all shifts in any free time they have. Forget about having a life in their eyes. Also don’t expect to have any upward momentum in a career. You’re told a “promotion” will be coming because you are a valued employee but yet they never make good on their word. Also doing a full remodel during a pandemic and making up for the loss in revenue by laying of a second round of employees (including many respected managers) is absurd.
