I have been working at Old Navy (More than a year)

    Pros

Good customer service practice, as well as an easy way to see how retail works.

    Cons

Corporate is not considerate to stores, repairs do not come in, stock requests are slow (especially at test stores aka P2 and possibly P3 stores), unqualified GMs

    Advice to Management

Please pay more attention to the quality of customer and employee elements, do not advertise higher up job opportunities to store employees, the gap is too wide.

I worked at Old Navy part-time

    Pros

The staff at my store were really fun and enjoyable to be around.

    Cons

The work can get boring after a while. Also, the pay isn't very good.

    Advice to Management

Don't boss your staff around and then go sit in the break room while on the clock. We know what you're doing back there.

I have been working at Old Navy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, great benefits, positive and motivating upper field management, product is really exciting, on trend and keeps getting better.

    Cons

Payroll. I've worked for several retail companies and Old Navy has the worst payroll hours I have ever experienced. Being 1 of 2 salaried managers I'm often working 65+ hours to make up the lack of brand associare support during off season sales. We typically only have 2-3 Salesfloor associates for the entire day as well as 1 cashier at a time. For the hourly managers, in order for them to hit their 40 hours they often are scheduledoing as brand associates, ie fitting room shifts, cashiers, Salesfloor, etc. It's hard to grow and develop as a leader when your direct reports either are forced to take PTO bc their is no payroll or you yourself are working in the fitting room for 5 hours of your day.

    Advice to Management

You just invested millions in the upper field leadership structure. How about investing in your brand associates and store level leadership?

I worked at Old Navy part-time

    Pros

The employee discount at sister stores was good

    Cons

They weren't flexible with scheduling. Were strict about being on time, even if I was regularly there when my shift started.

    Advice to Management

Be flexible, listen to your employee complaints

    Pros

The people you meet and work with each day makes it rewarding and worthwhile. There us always something to do

    Cons

They are not pro employee and don't value hare work and dedication but do value clicks. You always give it your all and it only takes one thing to have you blacklisted and replaced all for them nothing for you if you need help

    Advice to Management

Clicks are for high school students not trained professionals value your employees dedication and hardwork as well as their lives

I have been working at Old Navy part-time

    Pros

A fun environment that can get fast paced when it's busy. Co-Workers are outgoing and help customers with needs.

    Cons

Slow majority of the times. Not a lot of hours to give unless you become management. Performance of selling the ONC is a must.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time

    Pros

The company is great to work for, they genuinely care about employees as well as general human rights (Art is very supportive of the LGBT community as well as immigrants rights). They are great with scheduling and are very willing to help when needed.

    Cons

When there is an issue in management (bad managers), HR doesn't do much, even when situations escalate and get out of hand. They are very aggressive when it comes to ONC's, there is little ability to move up in management.

I worked at Old Navy full-time

    Pros

It was a great place to work at one point but management changed and how they treated people change.d

    Cons

I was someone who did well and pushed our promotions but unfortunately I have seen other people treated so poorly because they didnt "perform" as well. It used to be really fun to work there and it just changed

    Advice to Management

go back to how it was!
