I have been working at Old Navy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The discount is really good! Old navy has a lot of cute clothing. One of my favorite stores to shop at.

    Cons

Management is unprofessional, over hired a lot of people, little to no hours, management encourages employees to have multiple jobs, peers are bullies, do NOT work here if you expect 15 hrs or more. Had to share a locker with 3 other people yet was yelled at for leaving my belongings in the breakroom when locker was occupied. Don't quit your current job because it's not worth the hours! They have really nice clothing but working here is not worth it if you're a experienced retail employee. Also hired "interns" to basically do the same job as a titled salesfloor or cashier. Have to order discount card and is a huge complicated process

    Advice to Management

Give new hires information about how to set direct deposit on their own and about how to order their discount cards.

I have been working at Old Navy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Old Navy is really good about paying their associates well. Every store I have worked at with the company has had great people running it (with the exception of one or two people).

    Cons

Associates get paid well but once you move into management your pay is awful and the job expectations are unreasonable. The amount of pressure to get credit cards is crazy -- it blows my mind that companies expect every single person to want to go into debt for some clothes and a discount.

    Advice to Management

Build your associates up -- that was my biggest pet peeve as an associate and something I strive for now as a manager. I never received any kind of positive feedback, the only time I got feedback was when I needed to step up on something else.
Understand that just because this store might be your career, it doesn't mean that it is every one else's first priority above everything else.

    Pros

Substantial employee discount, great company morals, great company foundation, good products, reasonable prices

    Cons

Boring, Mediocre pay, Poor management, Overstaffed, not many opportunities to work, long hours

    Advice to Management

Better organization; as an employee I received my employee discount card late and by that time I had decided to part ways with the company.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time

    Pros

You get to meet some cool managers and customers, if you're shy it will help with developing communications skills, as well as becoming familiar with the store products. The employee discount is nice as well (50% off) and usable in all four brands including the outlets.

    Cons

Going weeks without hours, yet the same people are always on. They seem to be hiring more people and giving less hours. Pushing ONC's are hard if every customer you get has one already. If not ON but Gap & Banana. You could get hours if you're buddy-buddy with the managers

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring 40+ people when there's not many hours to give everyone during bad traffic days.
