      Great Benefits even for PT

      Pros

Variety of benefits even for PT workers, including 401k, accident insurance, vision, dental, legal, & a variety of work/life balance programs and discounts with other brands online through sponsored "Discount Mall" website. Pay card option for those without direct deposit (with instant tip-share loading if applicable at the end of shift). Payroll information accessible on the website. Flexible hours, management at my location was generally willing to work around 2nd jobs or college courses. Employee discount & location/branch transfer available throughout Darden brand family (Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Seasons 52, etc.). Promotion structure in place for internal promotions.

      Cons

Favoritism/bias in management, somewhat of a good ol' pals club. Not gender/racial, but management played favorites not by work skill/ethic but personality, and if you were on their good side you could do no wrong and if you were on their bad side everything was a problem. Seemed to go all the way up the chain from local store management even to regional/state levels, certain locations got better treatment, attention, etc. from upper management too. During pandemic, trying to spread the hours meant I was averaging 5 hours a week, couldn't pay my bills. I get trying to help everyone but I wasn't the only one forced to leave. Advancement opportunities regularly discussed but never followed through.

      Pros

Flexible Hours Learning Experience Great Management Discounts on food Friendly Workplace

      Cons

The only con I can think of is only being allowed 3 tables at a time for first month or two, but even that is not bad considering you are still learning the ropes.

      Choose your hours wisely

      Oct 25, 2020 - Server/Bartender in Weslaco, TX

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Flexible hours, quick money in tips (on a good day), 50% of meals when you work, 25% off meals for you and your family on off days. Fast-paced and fun when everyone is working together.

      Cons

Daytime tips can be low on slow days. Sometimes you get cut early and don't make any money. If they keep you longer than other servers, you and only a few others will be on the floor, so if a rush comes in, you may end up getting seated extra tables outside of your section, which leads to slower service, thus less money in tips.

      Great job, subpar management.

      Pros

50% off a meal while on shift. $1 soup or salad while on shift Flexible hours Decent money Fun environment most of the time

      Cons

Managers need reminded multiple times about schedule changes or availability. Hard to get a manager to take the employees side, they really embrace "the guest is always right". Despite this, overall a great place to work.
