Down to earth firm with very smart and genuine people. Excellent opportunities to develop professional skills. Work hard, play hard culture.

Cons

Project mix heavily weighted towards finance and risk within financial services. Difficult to get on very exciting / transformational projects. Hours can be very long and inconsistent.

Pros

Ideas are welcomed and implemented from any source. Promotion is based on merit, not seniority. Support Professionals are treated with respect and can grow into many different career Inclusion and diversity is sincerely explored and encouraged. Work-life balance is constantly being evaluated and improved. The people are smart and motivated.

Cons

Sometimes work-life balance does get skewed, even for Support Professionals, and your workload causes you to work more hours than you would like. This is even worse for consultants. Some Partners can be demanding, entitled, and unreasonable.

Pros

The pay is reasonable, and you get to live a pretty nice lifestyle while traveling for work. That said there is a clear difference between Oliver Wyman and the Bains, BCGs, and McKinseys of the world as far a perception goes. HR was always vary helpful. The people you work with are very smart and usually nice. You get exposure to lots of different industries, companies etc etc. Yeah, that is about all I can say about it. I wouldnt work there again. I would work at a boutique firm. Also, pay is the same across all geographies which hurts if you are in NYC.

They are downsizing very fast right now

-Smart people and very analytical: analysts to partners -Always focused on value creation and creating impact: really exciting projects -Purpose and good culture: everyone is approachable, including Nick Studer

-Can spend a lot of time creating BD materials: OW invests a lot in clients so a lot of free work; full POV before even starting a case -Pay could be better -Better onboarding for industry hires, but in OW's defense, people joining should be smart enough to understand that the company really values and places focus on homegrown consultants

Pros

You get the opportunity to work with smart people and take on as much responsibility as you can take. Varied clients across the globe.

Cons

Long work hours make it difficult to balance life outside of work in some practices where other practices have a much better work load. Difference in scoping may have to do with maturity of leadership team.

Great colleagues with brilliance. Smart people in the lower ranks of consultants and associates that make this company tick

Cons

Bureaucracy of being part of MMC. Being part of a public company, limits upside at junior ranks as well for bonus. The management is very political. Partners are not as great (exception may be FS) and lot of hot air. No wonder the retention is low
