Pros

Ollie as a product is amazing and was clearly built from the heart with love for fur babies everywhere. The culture here is the best I've ever experienced, with a competitive compensation package and truly smart and driven people that want the best for the company and their peers. Compared to other companies that went fully remote around the same time, I feel like Ollie is unbelievably well-adjusted and does things I've never seen from other companies in similar positions. As an employer, they're a breath of fresh air :)

Fantastic mission and purpose, great culture, great work life balance and respect of boundaries, opportunities to learn a lot for early to mid level engineers.

Nothing really sticks out as a con, sometimes goals may change quickly but thats not always avoidable no matter where you work.

I absolutely love my teammates. If you want to work with a group who are all aligned with the company mission, this is it! Company culture is by far one of the best I have been (I have experience in various startups). TRUE unlimited PTO with managers who actually care you take it off, transparent communication, attempts at large in-person events where they will fly team members to a single location for some fun times.

Cons

Like with a lot of other product businesses, inventory and supply issues can be a bummer.

- Company mission: Ollie (and its employees) truly want to make a difference in dogs' lives. I'm proud to be part of a company that makes really amazing products and can positively impact the lives of dogs and their owners. - Great people: Team members are devoted to Ollie's mission mission and treat one another with respect. I've noticed very little team drama/gossip/politics. Ollie hires really smart people who are great at their jobs. - Strong leadership: We're in great hands with Ollie's leadership team. Decisions are made thoughtfully and taking the whole company into consideration. Leadership also recognizes that we're all human and the People team has enacted some great policies to promote employee wellness, including periodic mental health days and nice perks like Seamless credits, WFH stipends, and a few other things. - Company growth: Ollie has so much room for growth. The team has grown quickly but it's exciting to be part of an atmosphere that is teeming with a lot of excitement and plans for the future. - Talking about dogs all day is great if you are an animal lover!

Cons

- As noted above, Ollie's team has grown very quickly, which can create some confusion because many folks are still new. - There is room for improvement and streamlining with certain processes and projects, but things are getting better and we're still a startup, after all. - Remote working isn't for everyone and can be challenging at times. That said, employees are beginning to meet up more in-person now, which is really refreshing!
