I have been working at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

You get a 20% discount. There is no planogram, so you have full creative merchandising. You have the ability to drive your own profits.

    Cons

There is no support from your DTL or support center. If you ask a question, the support center calls your DTL, and then you get yelled at. The hours you are given to run a store are abysmal, and they expect there creative culture to be cookie cutter, which is absolutely ridiculous. The support is a joke, the expectations are a joke, and you will always be expected to give more and more. No payroll, too much freight...

    Advice to Management

Hire competent DTLs that know how to focus on an entire district, and not just one dumpster fire at a time. Listen to your STLs when they say they need certain things. They know!! Stop being stingy with payroll and allow us to offer better wages!! People that are paid well and given more hours will stay! The turnover is due to corporate tying our hands when it comes to paying what people are worth!

    Pros

    The discounts and friendly service

    Cons

No hours and not enough registers open

    Advice to Management

Open more that one register. Also this store makes money you can give people more hours than 5 a week.

I have been working at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet part-time for less than a year

    Pros

easy work for the job being performed, coworkers are sincere and helpful, some of management is approachable, some room for advancement within the store

    Cons

hours are not there for someone who is willing to work, schedule is hardly out on time, communication is not there between management most times, drama! hours are not distributed evenly sometimes.

    Advice to Management

hire more people who are willing to come to work every single day and do their best!

I have been working at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Monthly Schedule. Benefits start on 1st day.

    Cons

Turnover. It’s retail. However, CTL’s are the managers who do the most work and get no credit for helping to keep the STL’s job intact.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate your CTL’s. They are your backbone in this company. Do some other incentives to keep them in your company.

I have been working at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The discount is a pro and my coworkers are nice.

    Cons

Extremely high expectations for not enough money. Manager walks around all day or is either in the office sitting. When she is present, she is yapping her mouth about something no one cares about or she’s complaining yet does the bare minimum to help and can’t even get her stuff done on time. Customers tear through the books and stationary like you wouldn’t believe. At least in my store, the book supervisor is the ONLY...

I worked at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet part-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you find them then good for you

    Cons

Very few hours. If you don't keep up OA enrollment numbers then you get scheduled even less until you are fired. They will also use you for their own gain and take credit for your work so they can move up and get bonuses while treating you like sh*t and not acknowledging any of your work.

    Advice to Management

    F**k off
