    Cons

Watch out for yourself, district managers and above dont care about your well being. Was hurt on job and still continued to give as much as my body was able to do and injury didn't get better just irreparable only to get terminated. Definitely dont have your back.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your managers, dont dismiss them when they get hurt trying to keep your stores running

I have been working at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

20% employee discount -insurance not bad for full time

    Cons

RUN AWAY unless you are completely desperate! Terrible company to work for- no work life balance, freight driven with little to no payroll, regional director's expectations unrealistic,micro-management, terrible "raises" -expect next to nothing on annual reviews so ask for more $$ up front. Many, many TL's looking for other opportunities. Turnover is Horrible. Corporate may say they listen to concerns but does nothing...

    Advice to Management

You're losing great people because you truly don't care about anything but the bottom line. Take care of your people and they will take care of you. Love Mark Butler(he's passionate about the company) but unfortunately so much has changed since he has stepped back and the company became public.

    Pros

If you never been a store manager and want to feel what's it like then this company is for you. Other than that there is no pros

    Cons

Work life is terrible you can easily be working open to close 6 to 7 days a week. Pay increase for store leader is terrible except no more than 2% . All stores need support help all the time. DM and up truly do not care if you pass out for working to long, you work the truck every day all day. Buyer want there stuff up front go figure. No hours to run your store. Can't get Quality people. Training consists of reading...

I worked at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - 20% Discount - Competitive medical insurance - Almost impossible to get fired as long as you are trying to do a good job. - The company is very profitable(partially due to overworking the employees) - Promote from within

    Cons

    - No work life balance - 401k is only 25% match - No stock options - Very physically demanding - Corporate dictates when the store managers work. You no longer have the freedom to run your business. - Really high turnover The company used to be a great place to work. The employees were valued from the ground up. The work was hard and the company acknowledged it. The company culture has changed so that no one...

    Pros

Busy environment. Great products. 20% discount. This really could be a good job if they would listen to some new ideas.

    Cons

MICROMANAGEMENT!!! Even as the General Manager of the store be prepared to unload trucks two or three times a week. They reset the store every time you turn around and rarely have a chance to catch up. Little to no support from Distract Team Leaders. They do not coach and train here. They visit once a month, tell you everything that's wrong. Leave you a list of 100 things to do till the next visit. They will dictate...

Shorter hours, not open some holidays and shorter hours

    Cons

Too much work flow and not enough help from district team leaders. Company is very much behind the times. Corp does not communicate well with store level management. Little to no shrink control plan. No support to store managers from district. Managers or corporate. Mgmt turnover is extremely high.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue and get your act together. Turnover is high

I have been working at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet full-time

    Pros

There are no planograms, so everything is made into deals. Store team leaders have a very hands on experience (pushing freight, seasonal transitions, etc).

    Cons

Payroll hours are driven by sales, regardless of the amount of freight coming into the building. Slowly, more and more workload increases have been pushed down to store level.

    Advice to Management

Expectations increase but payroll and salaries remain the same. And with 2.49% pay increases given to the associates for annual reviews, and 5% increases for promotions (combined with low starting rates), many associates leave for better pay. It's a hard pill to swallow when low turnover is pushed heavily at a store level.

I have been working at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet

    Pros

20 percent discount. Decent benefits. Not much more to add as negative way outweighs the benefits when it comes to working for such an uncaring company.

    Cons

No upper support. Unrealistic goals. Terrible company from when it comes to taking care of employees. Work there and regret it.

    Advice to Management

Quit the lies and being cheap. I hope you are reading the feedback and doing something with it.

I worked at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great discount on already extremely discounted merchandise.

    Cons

Daily trucks that have to be processed with the worst talent pool you get to hire from. More freight that gets allocated than you get working man hours. If you don't process timely, your name gets thrown around the "collective bee hive" (gossip) and tons of support get thrown to you and get shamed by your superiors.

    Advice to Management

Mark Butler needs to run a store for 30 days. In fact the rest of you "corporate clowns" ought to run a store too. Maybe then Ollies will thrive and prosper.
