I have been working at Oltmans (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good people all around, everyone is very professional, and they are willing to give students a great opportunity by learning from the veterans.

    Cons

Interns have to find their own housing.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Oltmans as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

I could not find any reason why someone would want to work for this company having to deal with racial remarks and slurs pertaining to Caucasians and the obvious bad attitudes towards any contract employee who was not an originally member from the SoCal Office group, consisting of 85% Hispanic including the rude, abrasive and unprofessional Superintendent John Silva..

    Cons

My pay was pretty good for a QC Inspector that was not allowed to perform his actual job, that is Quality Control for the various assemblies and items shipped to the project site from "Mexico" I asked for plans &* spec's and a computer for report writing & it fell on deaf ears. Hmmmm how else do you perform a Quality Inspection on individual items without contract documents and approved plans?

    Advice to Management

Stay in Southern California and keep to the simplest of constructability "Solar Power Generation Plants "Fortalice Panel Design" yes, child's play

    Pros

Great company for mid to senior level.
Good comp, and work is independent and needs self initiative. No one bothers you with how you are doing your job as long as it's getting done properly.

    Cons

Not the correct place for new grads with no experience. Requires self learning and figuring out the ropes by yourself. Field makes the call on how things get done.

    Advice to Management

Accountability needs to be instilled in all decision making. Field should report to office. Needs to hire more qualified people who are willing to go the distance to get the job done.
