I have been working at Omni Hotels part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a great place to work. They work with your availability. They have patience while training. They really work with you. They are forgiving with learning and mistake. Every one is pretty laid back and friendly. They have multiple events for the employees through out the year. If the weather is unsafe to drive they give you a room for the night. Meals are one dollar to eat and free if there is left over from events. Free coffee. Always a plus. I really just loved working here.

    Cons

There has been quite some turn over in management. Hopefully they have some good leaders in there now. The pay could be better. You don't make much but like I said it's a great comfortable place to work.

I worked at Omni Hotels full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I honestly can't think of any.

    Cons

I never felt welcomed or valued here. We never had the essential supplies we needed at the front desk. Managers pass simple things on for their team members to do because A) they are too lazy and just sit in the back and B) they love exercising their authority over you/treating you like a slave. Certain team members do not pull their weight in work and get away with it. The front desk team is largely unprofessional and immature, resembling a toxic high school environment. I was never able to leave work on time and the scheduling forced me to work 7, 8, or even 9 days in a row without a day off. You're not even guaranteed one weekend off per month. Schedule comes out on Wed or Thursday for that upcoming Saturday through Friday. Work-life balance is nonexistent and the management team guilt-trips you for asking for reasonable scheduling adjustments for doctors' appointments, etc...

    Advice to Management

Eliminate the micromanagement, empty promises to move up, and playing favorites. Learn how to communicate (and listen!) effectively with your team so that they can succeed in their roles. Use the stand-up meeting to tell us actual pertinent information instead of reading off a piece of paper. Support and show appreciation for all team members and address and follow-up with their concerns. Show interest in teaching your employees new things so that they do not get bored. Do not abandon your team members when they are swamped with tasks at the front desk by leaving early. Hold people accountable for their actions.

I worked at Omni Hotels part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team of people from co-workers to upper management.

    Cons

Low pay but the job was a fun experience.

    Advice to Management

No real advice, they were there when we needed them and stayed away when we did not.

    Pros

Loved the $1 lunches! The management team really ensured that you had all the resources available. The LID program was well planned out with assignments and deadlines.

    Cons

The GM is not exactly the best, socially awkward and not very charming.

    Advice to Management

    Get a new GM

I worked at Omni Hotels full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a great place to work as I was in college and the employees are a good bunch of people. They treated their employees pretty well.

    Cons

There seemed to be not enough room to grow within the company. It seemed that they did not do a great job of promoting within even though that is what they tell you at orientation.

    Advice to Management

I would say that they need to train their employees in a better way. The managers seemed unqualified and had no idea how to train or manage the employees.

    Pros

    Good Pay
    Great group of coworkers
    Advancement opportunity
    Good communication between departments
    Strong FOH team

    Cons

The location I work at is allowing an unstable tyrant to run the sales/marketing team. With the exception of two people on my team, every single individual is actively seeking employment elsewhere. The office vibe this person's leadership style creates is not conducive to productivity or positivity.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to value the opinion of their people, and take employee reviews/remarks/and turnover seriously. This is easily the worst working environment I've ever been a part of.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Maybe think to give people a schedule more than 3 days in advance . And also let people have one day off during an eleven day back to back work schedule

Former Employee - Bellman in Broomfield, CO

I worked at Omni Hotels full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work environment was nice. Of course, all things depend on your supervisors and managers, but as long as you obey and do what you're told - things usually go well. I was on the bell staff and enjoyed talking with guests, helping with their luggage, and parking their cars. Tips were typically good, and hourly wage was good too - although I left right before they lowered the hourly.

    Cons

Sometimes, the hours were hectic, early mornings or late nights were your only options. I think that is part of the business though. I worked closely with the managers who were payed a salary and worked their butts off with usually at least 50 hours a week but, of course, they didn't get over time. At some points, if I was getting good tips, I would be making more than the managers.

    Advice to Management

HIgher pay equals higher moral. Higher moral equals greater company loyalty.
